I have a sinking feeling she's not bothered about the UK at this point.
The only time she's come over recently that I'm aware of is for a two hour record store singing in London some weeks ago. |

Good news and bad news:
Bad first: According to latest news stories she's split with her boyfriend Francesco: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...ini-split.html Aside from feeling sad for Lana herself, from a fans point of view this is sh*t because last time she had a break up (with Barrie) around the release of UV it seemed to make her a recluse. All at exactly the point in time the album needed promoting. History repeating itself? Lets hope not. Good news: Despite that there's an Instagram snippet from Lana’s friend Director Neil Krug suggesting there will be a Burnt Norton Video. https://instagram.com/p/99KHSHQ-R3/ Possibly part of a much bigger song video do we think? Speculation is rife she'll make another Tropico style super video with multiple songs and poetry. We’ll see. Good to see Lana hasn't given up on Honeymoon yet. |

Well we've been moaning about lack of promotion for the album in Europe, but given what's just happened in Paris I'm very glad she didn't come over to this part of the world now. Frightening times and my heart goes out to the victims.
On a brighter note she's still keeping her promotion going Stateside. Good radio interview; Lana's thoughts on everything from the album to her fave indie artist Father John Misty: http://www.thecurrent.org/feature/20...-and-honeymoon She confirms there was a full home made video for single release of Honeymoon release but it doesn't appear she's going to release it now, I guess because Interscope went with High By The Beach instead. We know about the stacks of unreleased songs she has as they've leaked on the web, I'm wondering how many unreleased videos does she have too? If you go back through her video trailers and promotion stills there's all kinds of little bits of footage and stills that never appears to have been used. Sometimes it turns up elsewhere. For instance the video she put out for Music To Watch Boys To is semi composed of underwater video footage she didn't use for one of single releases from Ultraviolence: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kYsxoWfjCg |

How I would love to see the unreleased Honeymoon video. She looked stunning in that tiny, tiny snippet she did release.
I remember Lana saying she'd be happy to just delete all her unused stuff and move on but her (producer? correct me if I'm wrong) Nick likes to keep them, so she doesn't. Gah. |

There are too many people who have access to unreleased Lana songs and many are sold privately, most will never leak online. With most of her music being recorded digitally on computers there are plenty of people who have access to her recordings so they will never be deleted.

I'm guessing that would be Rick (Nowels) rather than Nick
, but whatever his name is I'm glad he's not letting her press the delete button! She's just got an astonishing attitude to writing where she keeps moving on with the next project and doesn't dwell or return to anything she's doing before. I'm still stunned it seems there's potentially another album on the way next year. And who'd have thought it, paper gossip columns seem to be talking balls about her splitting up with Francesco. Tsk. She's still shining either way. Nice pictures of her at the Breakthrough Prize Science awards with the article: http://www.inquisitr.com/2563369/sig...is-not-real-2/ More on the fansites: http://lanadelreyfan.com/lana-del-re...-prize-awards/ Love how she's genuinely interested in science and attends events like this. She did of course study Metaphysics at Uni. How many other pop and rock stars have a clue about anything scientific or philosophy based? Only one that immediately springs to mind is Queen's Brian May. |

Ah now I have an excuse for not including Brain Cox, because he was (honestly!) on the tip of my keyboard to get a mention. I figured as he's abandoned music in favour of his highly successful career in science+ TV presenting he doesn't count as an active musician anymore. But full kudos to the guy. I figure he's more in another category of person who had a hit song and then went on to greater things still in another profession. Not many people can say they have done that either. Thank-you for the appreciation Mirror Mirror! And if he's out there I'll compliment Eminem super fan hazydayz for getting rid of the trolling and writing some thoughtful well written comments on these boards recently too. Big improvement. Just finish off with linking this article about Lana's fanbase. It’s quite a complementary summary about her, her fans and how she deserves respect for what she's achieved against the odds: http://ndsmcobserver.com/2015/11/sce...-lana-del-rey/ Quote:
Del Rey has had her efforts recognized. She’s the top-streamed female artist on Spotify by U.S. users. She’s the only female artist to win two MTV European Music Awards in the “Best Alternative” category. She won GQ’s Woman of the Year Award. “Ultraviolence” peaked at No. 1 in 12 countries worldwide. And the list goes on. Made me giggle how the writer has dubbed the fans the "Lanatics" Her work is stunning; her music will bring you back to the golden ages of American history. Much of her discography is dark and sultry. Some even describe her music as “sadcore.” Interestingly enough, some of her best songs — including “Serial Killer,” which she performed on her Endless Summer Tour — are unreleased, meaning you can’t just buy it or stream it on Apple Music; you have to work for it. Del Rey has made a name for herself and has gained a steadfast base of diehard fans. People have serenaded her as she’s passing by the street, others have cried when they meet her up close. She’s down-to-earth, has a great off-stage presence and has shown a great deal of appreciation for her loyal Lanatics. I would easily consider myself among those fans. I’ve purchased all her vinyl albums and a record player just to listen to her music the way she wants us to. I ordered the box set of “Ultraviolence” and had it shipped from Germany because they don’t press it in the U.S. If I had been in New York City on Sept. 19, I definitely would have been camping out in front of the Urban Outfitters store waiting for “my queen. . I believe Lana herself has always refrained from giving her fan base a tag like Little Monsters or whatever, don’t imagine she wants to typecast her fanbase with a silly name.

Its fair to say Lana's having something of a crap time at the moment. She's had not 1 but 2 fans (or should that literally be stans) break in her home, with one utterly crazy bitch stealing her lovely Jaguar sports cars. Mmm real "Lanatics" taking obsessive fandom too far.
So its nice to see a bit of positive news; she's the cover star of the latest edition of NME. (Edit did try and out a link to that but it doesn't seem to be working, d'oh oh well its on their Twitter account if you want to see it). Good to see she's doing a bit of promotion in the UK music press at last. She's also announced a tour date for a Russian music festival-an indication she will be touring the album next year perhaps? |

Wouldn't surprise me, IIRC wasn't she booked for a gig in Israel before some atrocity happened making it unsafe to go?

NME interview looks very cool, she confirms she would have loved to have done the Bond song but was never asked
. I hope the Broccoli family are taking note that she is still interested in doing it: http://www.nme.com/news/lana-del-rey/90235 Also like the fact that The Independant have picked up on this and are saying why the hell didn't they get Lana to save us from Sam Smith's wretched song ![]() :ww.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/news/lana-del-rey-wanted-to-do-the-bond-theme-but-wasnt-asked-a6767676.html And yeah please take care wherever you decide to play any concerts Lana! |

Makes me sad that for some inexplicable reason, the Grammys and Bond people choose to avoid Lana like the plague

The full NME interview:
http://www.nme.com/features/a-letter...over-interview Good interview and best one with a music magazine for a while. Its nice to read a interview where the journalist has actually listened to the album and did their research. Other publications please take note and full credit to the NME. As always Lana makes a great cover star. As for the Grammy awards they've never been the coolest award ceremony in my view of the world. People slag our Brit awards off but they are a million times better than the ultra-conservative predictable Grammy awards. |

And talking about Lana going back on stage- she's made a guest appearance on the Weeknd's tour singing the track she did with him on his latest album (Prisoner):

This is slightly older news, but I thought it was worth a link because Billboard have allowed the video footage to be shown now on the web. Lana winning her award at the Billboard "Trailblazer" award ceremony:
http://popcrush.com/lana-del-rey-acc...lblazer-award/ Whilst the Grammy awards continue to ignore her it’s good to see she's doing well at other award ceremonies. Honeymoon seems to be well placed in most of the album of the year lists as well .

What tracks would you guys suggest to listen to first on the album? I've not heard the album, but I really like 'Music To Watch Boys To'. But I find it so hard at first to listen to a whole album through!
I really liked Ultraviolence, my favourites were Shades Of Cool/Brooklyn Baby/Ultraviolence, |

OK assuming you have already heard the tracks promoted so far out of the other songs on the album I would say Freak:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DahYSJvrJiU and Religion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MX7iR9veGOw are good places to start. Art Deco is popular with fans: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6N7X7zLQhAo Along with Blackest Day: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gV2Cdw3zkg4 And Swan Song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giBGCCdawX4 Overall like most of Lana's material its dark but beautiful, very jazzy in places, with some songs sounding very cinematic and others (perhaps given Lana "Dark Queen" tag) surprisingly uplifting- like Music To Watch Boys To that you mention. |

Just link her Radio 1 interview and performance again as its well worth a listen if you want to try and get into the album. In particular when she sings Terrence Loves You and Honeymoon-Wow!

Just when we were starting to think that might be it for Honeymoon, she's back: Freak is getting a music video:
http://pitchfork.com/news/63130-lana...er-john-misty/ She's dressed in striking white, it all looks rather heavenly and the video co-stars her fave Indie star Father John Misty too. |

OK I've been on a bit of a holiday...can't believe nobody else on these boards linked/commented on the Freak video whilst I was away, cause it really is a visual treat. Lana and Father John on an acid trip in the hills leading to some stunning imagery and a montage of underwater ballet that is incredibly beautiful:
httphttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jq30l5-vBbo:// I'm pleased that with Honeymoon its seen Lana getting back to the standard of her Born to Die era videos. I know some people just see pop videos as being shallow but damn, Lana Del Rey videos are at their best just something else. |

Taking this with a big massive pinch of salt. Lana has posted a snap of herself on Instagram wearing a tour jacket that has the words "Lana Del Rey Guns and Roses 2016." The press are jumping on this as proof she will join up in the current G'n'R tour as the support act: http://www.nme.com/news/lana-del-rey/93055 Bit cynical about the chances of this happening. Although we all know Lana is great friends with Axl Rose she's already got a load of music festival dates booked at the same time as the G'n'R tour so unless she's just playing a handful of shows with them I can't see it happening. I'm guessing the customised jacket is just a present from Axl, but it would be one hell of a show if they did team up. Also something else worth checking on her Instagram page are further snippets of the Honeymoon single video that was never released. She says: Quote:
lanadelrey: Never put it out because nothing really happened in it.
I'm inclined to think a Lana video where not a lot happens is still a hell of a lot more interesting than most other artists videos, even if its just on Instragram, go on release it!:https://www.instagram.com/p/BDuGkGkF...-by=lanadelrey |

Surprise, surprise, we now have a total backdown on the original story and its as I correctly guessed it was a custom tour jacket the band had made for her:
http://www.nme.com/news/lana-del-rey/93073 Now I'm not taking a pop at the NME who I used as a reference for this story, it was reported by a number of big music websites and even the likes of The Independent website. But you just think does anybody in the media do any research before they print "news" anymore? Of course not! Oh well its a pretty cool jacket thank-you world media for promoting it .

Freak is an amazing song. And 'Music to Watch Boys To'. Beautiful. She has a way of touching me that no other artist manages to come close to.
