It just feels like too much to me. I know that modern albums tend to be longer than previous eras but I think that's made them weaker rather than stronger. Sales have dipped so the idea seems to be that you load the record up to make it seem like good value or whatever but I think dilutes them because, rather than having 10-12 really fit together thematically as a coherent record, lots of filler makes its way through.
Maybe it's just my bias because almost all of my favourite albums are around 45 minutes.
