Only if they do or say something that is worse If he's as nice as pie all the way through, they can't make it look bad They can make it look boring, or not feature him, but you can't make something good look bad unless something bad is said or done

That applies to them all, of course. Look at Ollie Locke. Mr Nice, a dull housemate, but there wasn't anything bad they could show because he didn't do anything bad. He just didn't do anything great, or interesting, or they would have shown it. He made a silly speech, that was it.

I didn't know much about him but had a negative impression previously, so it's surprised me how I have warmed to him.

From observing him the House, he seems genuinely interested in people [and not just those who might be gossip fodder]. When he's talking to people [quizzing them!] he never seems to be looking over their shoulder for someone more interesting, as so many of these zlebs do.

He's one of those lucky people who have managed to forge a living from something that comes naturally to them, I think.

I too was particularly impressed to note how he went out of his way to ensure that HMs who were in the background were included, and not in an obvious, showy way but very graciously.

That's a different and interesting take on Perez. I had heard about him but didn't really know enough to form a proper opinion however this is what I assumed about him. I thought he was taking the pee out of celebrities and from what you're saying that is the case. I do like him in the House thus far and weirdly considering his bad reputation he seems kind and considerate, well mannered and intelligent

Yes I thought it was nice when he said he considered more about what he was saying and doing due to having a child

Well gee thanks ever so much.

Fact is both of them make (or have made) money out of being nasty. Maybe he's grown now, but it's about time isn't It? Better late than never I guess....

A bit tetchy, hm?

From what I've read ... he makes buckets of it. I read something like 100K a month, and that he's worth 80 million. All out of, what probably was just a blog that he initially created for his own entertainment. And I wouldn't classify only a small percentage of it as "nasty."

Do you read his site, or are you just going on what you've heard?

He is so fake omg, his act is so obvious. If he wants the public to warm to him, he needs to show what's underneath. Problem is, I'm not convinced there's a likable person beyond the facade.

I was laughing tonight though, when he said to Jeremy "I don't judge" - Uhm, hun... You've literally made a living from judging people and slagging them off lol...

Lol tetchy, over CBB? Nah it's not really that serious, I'll leave that to the super fans on here.

Yeah I know all about his wealth. Well now he's made that paper he can afford to play nice eh?

Exactly. He might be a nice guy, but he's built his fortune and spent his entire career by being a scumbag.

I like him too. He was the only one bothered about Ken who is an old man who is clearly mentally ill getting a bed and concerned about the Baywatch bloke. He is a bit OTT but thats Americans for you. He also looks the best for his age - forty something and not too wind tunnelled like some of them.

I'm giving them all a fair crack of the whip and will judge them on how they are in the house. The one thing I did notice about Perez, he was the only one to give Ken a moments thought in terms of him being the oldest and getting a bed. so he's already one up on that so far.

What's so scumbaggy?

He's run a gossip column, outed a few closet cases and had a few tiffs. Not really that outrageous when you consider the behaviour of some of the others.

I usually hate him, but he's tolerable here.

Bonus points for snubbing the pointless Cami and Chloe - they hate him.

So far, I really like him I'd heard of him before but never read anything about him - not that interested really - but, out of all of them, h's the one I'd get on with. I like having the kind of conversations he's having and could chat to him for hours. He's surprising me up to now, in a good way.

He seemed to be interviewing everyone. But when Ken started asking him personal questions his guard when right up and he looked totally out of his depth

I'm sure he'll be filing away lots of little tidbits to put on his site.

According to Wiki, Perez Hilton has...

Falsely announced the death of Cuban President Fidel Castro.

Called for the firing of Isaiah Washington from ABC television series Grey's Anatomy for making homophobic remarks and called for his readers to do the same. However, in early 2007, he was criticized by the blog The Hollywood Gossip for ignoring racist and homophobic remarks made by Paris Hilton.

Released illegal recordings of Britney and Lady Gaga

In 2007 a judge cleared the way for Hilton to be deposed in an on-going defamation suit brought against him by DJ Samantha Ronson, after a post on PerezHilton.com claimed that she had planted cocaine in friend Lindsay Lohan's car and set Lohan up to be photographed while under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

Posted links to Colin Farrel's sex tape

Posted a topless image of actress Jennifer Aniston that was allegedly "misappropriated and illegally copied" from unreleased footage from her 2006 motion picture The Break-Up.

Outed gay actors before they had come out e.g. Neil Patrick Harris & Lance Bass from N-Sync

Got clocked in the eye by Polo Molina at a Black Eyed Peas event where he called Will.I.Am a "faggot"

On June 25, 2009, shortly after Michael Jackson had gone into cardiac arrest, Hilton posted an article about the star's illness, claiming it was a publicity stunt. Hilton's original post featured sarcastic comments such as "Get your money back, ticket holders!!!!" and "Jacko pulled a similar stunt when he was getting ready for his big HBO special in '95 when he 'collapsed' at rehearsal!"

On June 13, 2010, Hilton posted a Twitter message linking to an upskirt picture of Miley Cyrus, which allegedly showed the singer without underpants. Since Cyrus was still underage at the time, questions were raised as to whether or not child pornography charges could be raised.

In October 2010, Hilton became involved in the It Gets Better Project started by Dan Savage, urging celebrities to support gay teenagers who were being driven to suicide by anti-gay bullying. This prompted Khloé Kardashian to call out Hilton as her "personal bully", claiming that it seemed hypocritical to make an anti-bullying message at the request of a man who had repeatedly bullied her

Lady Gaga cancelled her tour due to a hip injury caused by repetitive movements in her show. According to claims made by Lady Gaga on Twitter, Perez responded by sending her a picture featuring a wheelchair with the word Karma written across and Madonna pointing a gun.

Ruined an episode of Glee by appearing in it.

I don't think I like him.

Surely any difficulty here was down to Ken's clumsy way of asking about Perez's sexuality and the mechanics of how he had a baby. If anyone was out of his depth there it was clearly Ken despite him choosing to raise the issue.

Haven't you posted this elsewhere. Still doesn't sound that terrible to me

Anyway he's been lovely in the House this far so I suppose we need to separate his personal life from his professional life to fully enjoy him.

Perhaps I'm cynical, but I'm feeling he's making a special effort to be everyone's friend, for two main reasons: 1) he knows he's in a game and doesn't want to be nominated, 2) people will be more likely to open up and spill to someone they think they can trust.

Not convinced either way but if we believe that people can redeemed or rehabilitated in some way - one of the premises of or legal system - then as the last of those things was over 4 years ago perhaps we should give him a chance. (Sorry for preaching this is a concept I had just been thinking about). Not convinced as I say but will keep an open mind.

Prez seems more like a child with a megaphone who did stupid things online.

However the Michael Jackson one and Fidel Castro one is a whole new level of douchbaggery compared to the other stuff.

Still, that was then, this is now. If he hasn't changed then I look forward to the wrath of the Hopkins.

Perez might have only been asking for a bed for Ken to make himself look good, but I didn't see anyone rushing to swap!
