Is something going on at Chillerton Down?Edit: Or just a thought, is Stockland Hill causing problems?
I hadn't thought about the implications of Chillerton and Stockland being on 11C at 5kw. Beacon Hill is due to go to 5kw as well with nothing but Portland and the Purbecks to block it.
South Hants is now surprisingly strong in Dorchester, barely dropping out in the car when moving, but Stockland Hill hardly gets into Dorchester because of intervening hills.

Either Lichfield or Turners Hill (most likely Lichfield) has had a power increase for the B'ham mux. Now more audible in East Shropshire

Berks/N Hants blasting in to Hampshire/Dorset borders now- I used to get a usable signal, then lost everything when North Hessary Tor went live on 12D. Now back even better than before. I guess it'll get another boost when Newbury goes live.

I'm told Newbury BBC FM is currently reduced power, while they fit the DAB antenna, so it can't be far off

Nothing on the horizon...Derbyshire is very badly served by D1, once you get to to the Matlock, Bakewell areas, there's nothing at all from D1, not even a faint single from any distant transmitters. Frustrating not to be able to listen to Classic on DAB in the car, but even more so Talk Sport and Radio X which are not available on FM either.

BBC National DAB single is excellent in those areas though, and in Derby City as well.

You mean the city itself? Surely somewhere that size is covered

Doing a coverage check on the council address says D1 reception isshown as 'fair'. D1s plans are here and the aim is replicate Classic FM coverage before a DSO http://stakeholders.ofcom.org.uk/bro.../dab-coverage/ , maybe as a lot of Derbyshire is rural they consider it is not worth the cost for D1?

But at least Heart, Smooth, Capital, Gold and Gem will get full Derbyshire DAB coverage in stereo

Not properly, no. With a bit of careful radio and aerial placement you can usually get usable results but only just above the bubbling mud level....the slightest bit of interference and it breaks up altogether.

By comparison BBC and local DAB is rock solid...

How does it compare with Classic FM on FM which D1 is aiming to be equivalent to?

Badly, on the whole. Although not perfect, Classic FM on 100.1 is pretty good in most of Derby.

Then D1 should be improved, they are adding about 5 sites a year, but Derbyshire may not get an improvement till nearer a DSO which may not be till after 2020? Get a petition up?

Wow, that's ridiculous for a place that size. How is it driving round the city do you know? Poor as well I'm guessing?

unlikely as that is supposed to be a 0.3Kw filler.

Unless you know for definite, I suspect its Lichfield. which is due a power increase in the plan.

I'm not sure because my car radio is analogue.

But we were one of the last major cities to get local DAB. When that finally came I was optimistic D1 would soon follow. So far I'm still waiting...

Caterham Old Park Wood has gone live today, completing the Surrey local DAB buildout. Muxco have already published a new map to their site which shows a vast improvement in East Surrey and beyond for 10C.

BBC 12B should have a marked improvement in Oxted, Godstone and Caterham Valley.

Caterham and Godstone should also see an improvement of some other multiplexes too.

Any news on Muxco N.Yorks extending coverage? Wasn't there talk of a Skipton transmitter at one point?

I think someone posted on here it was a possibility in the future. Might have even been Matt from Muxco.

It does say on the N.Yorks bit of the Muxco site that........

"Other transmitters may be launched during the licence term to enhance and increase coverage"
