Stacey 'Loudmouth' Branning is definitely one of the best character to embrace the Square. She has got such a mixed bag to offer on the show she has a change of personalities all the time. She can be a mature lady one moment, gobby fiery and loudmouthed mare the next amd then can be an agony aunt for the square. What other characters can you say have that? As said in previous threads I do feel as if their hasn't been a character like this since Pat Butcher. Yes evidently Stacey had an iconic first stint but something tells me the second will be better.

I love that she's spending all of her time dealing with everyone else's catastrophes. She's been brilliant since September.

Stacey has been a real revelation for me. She has returned mature, level-headed and has shown considerable growth without losing her classic traits. I think dtc has done a remarkable job in progressing her since her return. Could you imagine what she'd be like if she came back under Kirkwood's rule? Slapper, bitchy, vulgar and completely obnoxious. Stacey is now currently one of my favourite females alongside Shabnam and Nancy.

The competition is fierce right now. There is no doubt that Lacey was the most impressive young actor the show has ever had, but with the likes of Kellie, Diane, Mimi, Jessie, Sam and Linda Henry now she is just one of many.

She should have stayed in the past. She's had everything that could possibly happen, happen to her.

Agreed. She was iconic and I like to remember her like that.

She's a grownup version of herself.

As others have said, I love how she has matured but still retained classic aspects of her character.

I'm glad they have kept her more or less away from Max.

She's a GODDESS, I really hope she gets a big storyline soon though but I'm guessing that the whole key business is a build-up to that

She really is fantastic and goes to show what a decent EP can do when bringing back a classic character, Kirkwood screwed up Kat and whilst Newman did the best she could to repair her many feel she is now never the same

Newman did repair Kat pretty well I'll give her that but under DTC Kat has been used very well imo. I think the problem many people have with Kat is because the writers have kept her with Alfie.

My favourite Stacey moment is during the Danielle/Ronnie reveal episode when she is drunk is having a rant about Ronnie, completely oblivious to how devastated Danielle is

"I tell you what she's gonna get a mouthfull off me I tell you that now. That Ronnie Mitchell thinks she's better than everyone. She looks down her nose at the whole square well you and me Danielle we're gonna put her straight! I'm here for you Danielle I'm your best mate in the whole world. I'm gonna be sick."

Meanwhile Danielle is just standing there sobbing her heart out lol Such a funny scene.

I remember that well, because Stacey looked so fit in that episode

Definitely!

What Stacey needs is some more family, and a big storyline, then she's definitely ready to go!

I've enjoyed Stacey in Linda's storyline etc... But 2015 is Stacey's turn now!

I never liked Stacey's return and it has only been since her finding out about Linda's rape where the stacey I loved finally came back. DTC has quite a year for Stacey in the works, so i can't wait to see where she goes.

Stacey definitely has turned it down since returning but is it such a bad thing? She is a character who has a split personality? I kind of like it?

Exactly. He's done wonders with her character and reintregrating her back into the Square.

Complete agreement. I loved Stacey the first time but she's come back and she's grown up! It's worked so well for her, because they could of easily brought her back and made it all about her, but she's too busy dealing with everyone else's crap!

She's one of the highlights of the show at the minute and I can only hope she gets her own big story later in the year + onwards!

I don't think we're going to see that one premier leading lady under DTC like we did when Kat was rulling Walford in her first stint or Stacey under Santer.

DTC has put together a stable of Leading Ladies - Linda, Kat, Sharon, Stacey and Lauren and that's a better way of doing things. Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Jessie, Lacey and Kellie are all excellent actresses. Jac is very good and improving all the time. Letitia/Sharon is a weakness to me but I appreciate for many she's essential.

I can we can safely say that the completely contrived and drawn out plot to get her back on the square was worth it then?

I don't think there is just one leading lady. Kat, Shirley, Sharon, Linda, Denise, Stacey are all leading ladies, imo. I personally wouldn't compare Stacey to Pat but then Pat was an EastEnders legend.
