Suppose the quality of TV drama has peaked and its all downhill from now on, with commercial interests outweighing creative interests?
We've had some great work in the past couple of years but the wheel keeps turning. |

The cynic in me thinks what if SW was shown in August or November? Would it be getting a bumper audience or would it be getting hammered?

I think ITV would probably rather have Broadchurch against Comic Relief Bake Off than against Silent Witness. At least they're aimed at different audiences!
Putting similar programmes against each other can benefit both programmes, there seems to be an assumption Broadchurch is being damaged by Silent Witness rather than people losing interest? Are people saying if it wasn't beside Silent Witness it would have 12 million viewers, or an additional 2 million viewers? Didn't Silent Witness launch on a Tuesday but I don't think it had 8-10m viewers as a result but instead had around 6m and has continued with similar figures. |

Will tonight's pet show on BBC 1 'Wild At Heart' do surprising well or will it be a pet show to far?

It would be hammered in November from I'm A Celebrity. The Missing held up well in November.

Yes. I mean across November The Missing generally held up well. People are coming up with reasons about Silent Witness doing well and missing an obvious one. People just choose to watch it.

SW would have struggled against Season 1 of BC, but Season 2 is easy pickings..... |

This is interesting. They're going to reveal a clue about who killed Lucy at The National Television Awards tonight.

Wow, impressive to see it rally so strongly for what was essentially a bang average episode.
Friday's eviction should be over 3m. As for last night. Emmerdale did well to fight off EE to win the battle. Emmerdale is on top form this week so far. |

Nothing strange about it at all - revenue from BBC America helps to fund BBC1 and 2,all quite open and above board
