Probably...but BBC2 has had some good success with such programmes where people have let their puppies & pussies be shown on TV.

Primarily I was considering the overnights.

If timeshift increases it shows interest is waning as for some Broadchurch is no longer a 'must see' and they have other things to do at the time such as wash their hair?

Exactly, if anything, it will put viewers off.

Excuse me? The only thing spinning in here is your ego. I've copied and posted before and been told not to, so just picked out the two main soaps last night. I've made it clear the ED figure includes +1.

Last nights 9pm slot:

BBC1: Silent Witness- 6.11M
BBC2: The Eichmann Show- 1.20M
ITV: Paul O Grady's Animal Orphans- 2.85M
CH4: 24 Hours in Police Custody- 2.44M
CH5: Celebrity Big Brother- 2.96M

The NTAs will damage the competition tonight, especially CBB I'd say as it usually does, they share a bit crossover audience, and CBB is nominated for an award too.

Fairly meh all round. I'd predict the football dented it all but DS haven't included it in their report so it can't have done too well:

Quote:
“Silent Witness stays top on Tuesday with 6.1 million

Silent Witness remained on top of the ratings on Tuesday evening, overnight data reveals.

The BBC One drama attracted 6.16 million viewers (25.5%) on average at 9pm. Later, Count Arthur Strong amused 1.66m (12.7%) at 10.35pm.

BBC Two's Winterwatch appealed to 2.45m (11.2%) at 8pm, followed by Martin Freeman drama The Eichmann Show with 1.20m (5.4%) at 9pm.

On ITV, Britain's Best Back Gardens interested 2.00m (9.2%) at 8pm (105,000/0.4% on +1). Paul O'Grady's Animal Orphans brought in 2.60m (10.7%) at 9pm (252k/1.6%).

Channel 4's Weighing Up the Enemy was seen by 827k (3.8%) at 8pm, followed by 24 Hours in Police Custody with 1.20m (5.0%) at 9pm (242k/1.5%). Gordon Ramsay's Hotel Hell entertained 883k (5.6%) at 10pm (121k/1.5%).

On Channel 5, Cats Do the Funniest Things tickled 1.67m (7.7%) at 8pm (145k/0.6%). The live Celebrity Big Brother non-eviction attracted 2.66m (11.0%) at 9pm (297k/1.8%). Suspects continued with 669k (4.2%) at 10pm.

BBC Three's Excluded: Kicked Out of School was seen by 424k (1.8%) at 9pm. On BBC Four, Hidden Killers of the Tudor Home fascinated 605k (2.5%) at 9pm.

On E4, The 100 continued with 509k (2.1%) at 9pm (169k/1.1%), followed by Supernatural with 262k (1.7%) at 10pm.”

ED did it's best to stop viewers turning over at 7:30pm with a great cliffhanger going into the ad break. It was a very strong episode last night.

'Must See' doesn't equate to watching live. Tonight's Wolf Hall is 'must see' for us, but we'll watch it later in the week.

Have the figures for GMB improved on last Monday of 580k?

Ridiculous number for the filler cats programme on C5, which was basically just a compilation of YouTube clips and scored one of Five's highest weeknight 8pm figures in months.

They are on a bit of a roll although that didn't stop Suspects dipping below 700,000.

you are confusing "must see" with "must see live". outside of sport i probably need to watch one or two programmes a year live.

The days of everyone talking about a show the day after has put paid to that.

Now who is spinning? Nobody knew about the return of Rachel or the sentence Charity would get.

Count Arthur Strong's ratings have been remarkably consistent. I wonder if this will encourage BBC1 to move series 3 to a primetime slot, say Fridays at 8.30.

I reckon the NTAs will be low. I won't be watching. It will just be another X factor fest like last year.

Broadchurch 8.64m/9.43m (+ 3.30m)
Silent Witness 8.13m (+ 2.64m)

Emmerdale always beats EE when it clashes with a head start so it didn't need to fight off anything, and both soaps are on top form this week so it's a shame they had to clash. As I said last night, EastEnders was an excellent last night and it's a shame less people got to see it as it was an important episode.

Those live figures are close. If one wasn't there the other would flourish!

Broadchurch added 3m again. I think that's excellent. And a massive timeshift for Silent Witness.

Thanks Ronant.

Do you have Sunday's consolidated ratings by any chance?

Not a chance, I don't think, after they did the same thing with Citizen Khan and it failed miserably.

A bucketload down on the opening episode but with all the flack its taken I think they'll be happy enough with that.
