Confirmed on ITV (bizarrely during Take Me Out... because the two shows have a natural crossover...) that Mr. Selfridge is returning this month.

Absolutely they could and should have, whatever the problem is it can't be that serious if they went ahead with airing the episode. And yet it was deemed serious enough to dish out a warning
![]() EDIT: A prize of a trip to France isn't anything like serious enough for the episode to have been postponed. Sounds like the warning was just the Beeb insuring themselves against a rollocking in the Mail ![]() |

Sunday 25th January I believe. I can't see it doing brilliantly although they're promoting it a hell of a lot so clearly aren't going to let it go down without a fight. We'll see.

I wonder if in a week or two ITV will be in the situation where cheap clip show Planet's Got Talent is their highest rating show on Saturday nights (it starts next week at 6.30pm). I wouldn't rule it out.

So it will up against the last two episodes of Last Tango in Halifax. Sensational scheduling once again.

To be fair it's always going to end up against drama on Sunday nights and whilst Last Tango is doing well it isn't a juggernaut so it could be worse.
I suppose they always have +1. |

Speaking of Call the Midwife, I can see it returning under 9m this year with Foyle's War denting it slightly with it (hopefully) rising for its second episode. Quote:
What have they got lined up after Last Tango? I'm sure something like Poldark would be (on paper) easier opposition.
I suppose they always have +1. Also, I think if they get Poldark right, big if though, it could do well for them. I wonder what can be made of them holding it back to March (according to all the press' 2015 previews*), do they think it's not worth wasting the CtM lead in on or do they think it can it can do well without it? *The same previews say April for Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell so I'm wondering if that will launch on Easter Monday. |

It won't be anything to celebrate though- a temporary boost brought about by a regrettable incident in the house, especially if it leads to questions being asked and fingers being pointed, which is possible if they have not handled the situation appropriately at production level. And as we've seen in the past, the audience will punish them for it in the long run if that is the case. I'm hoping they dealt with it very swiftly and authoritatively, but I'm not holding my breath. The welfare of HMs should be the number one priority at all times, else the whole thing ceases to be fun. Ofcom will be watching closely as well - the most complained about show yet again last year and already on course to hold onto that title after a mere 10 days. |

Still won't stop the Daily Mail complains about it with a full page spread tomorrow. One prize is in Paris.
I fully agree a great, well produced show tonight with a great level of singers and lots of emotion, Rita did well, even the nice touch of writing a letter to that boy. I can't recall the woman's name but the young girl working as a usherette in the West End that was a Susan Boyle moment from BGT, her voice!!! Wowsers. |

I've just finished watching the abomination that is New SITE, absolutely agree with those that said it was awful, I love the show and its heritage (possibly a little too much but I have my reasons) but this was just shocking. The TV Burp sketches, unfunny VTs, lack of any actual talent- Truly, truly awful and I hope it isn't rewarded in the ratings tomorrow.
The Voice on the other hand got off to a slow but decent start and really picked up later on imo (although production seemed a lot more assured than the previous few series) Rita seems good as a coach, and has a good energy about her and Ricky really seemed to be hitting his stride- A couple of stand out moments too and all the talent of the usual excellent standard (with a couple of exceptions) Awaiting tomorrow's results with interest

SITE was absolutly dreadful. We stuck it out for two 'performances' then gave up. What were ITV thinking?

Shows like Big Brother and I am a celebrity get me out of here, seem to go for ratings not contestant health. Channel 5 has given out out a statement with limited information, which would seem to be to boost ratings not respect privacy or people's health. The Jump. Is another one two stars injured badly, do they have programme insurance? I think it's the same as too young kids on talent shows and even Susan Boyle who didn't seem to be able to cope post BGT for a while. Seems at times everything and anything for ratings. Quote:

I expect this pattern unless it does a Splash and holds its audience. Don't rule that out.
With Stars, I can't see it getting away with being bad even for one series as most viewers tuning in will have done so with fond memories of how fun it used to be. I don't see how "so bad it's good" will cut it in that instance, instead it will prove a turnoff. |

The first series of Splash had no competition of note. That's why it did moderately well.
That's not something you can say about SITE. |
