After finding out Friday's episode probably won't be the flashback episode like most were expecting I had a feeling this would happen. It's still annoying though, as it could effect its ratings and it gives people yet another opportunity to mock EastEnders fans. I can see them going for something like this, depending on Emmerdale*:

Tuesday 17th - 19:30-20:00
Wednesday 18th - 20:00-21:00
Thursday 19th - 19:30-20:00 (live episode)
Thursday 19th - 20:30-21:00 (flashback episode)
Friday 20th - 20:00-20:30

Surely the producers would have known about this in advance, with each episode having a live element they would have to known the exact dates and times when planning, so they would have known to plan around the football.

*I'm still not convinced they will clash, I think ITV would much rather have a clash the following Tuesday because one, they'd come off better and two, it would limit EE's chances of keeping hold of the anniversary audience.

Yep, but what a story that would be.

I don't think DTC will be throwing a hissy fit over the schedule changes -- I'd imagine they have all angles covered.

I think the episode on the 19th will be the hour long episode as they have a wedding and a big reveal to do along with some returning characters so it would be a bit rushed to do it all in 30 mins

Tuesday 7.30 - 8
Wednesday 8 -8.30
Thursday 7.30 -8.30
8.30 -9.00 flashback
Friday 8.00 - 8.30

As I already posted, that can't happen as there is Champions League football then too.

what did The JK Show get on Sat/Sun Morning ITV?

NCIS: New Orleans confirmed for Friday nights from February 13, much to my annoyance.

Buying first run rights only to put it up against NCIS itself and immediately cut its potential overnight audience by up to half a million doesn't make an awful lot of sense to me. Might as well have gone for second run rights and saved some money!

That is a waste considering how crowded Friday can be.

What's going on Tuesdays then? Quite odd there's not going be a US import in that slot for the first time in a long time

Top Gear didn't add much in timeshift last series compared to Christmas. I think the same could happen this time. This is because the Top Gear Patagonia special was repeated one week after broadcast, with the series the episode is repeated one day after broadcast.

I cant believe how badly Waterloo Road is doing, to be getting 1.3m across both screenings is atrocious. It must be disheartening for those that worked on it. I have to be honest, i was a fan for maybe the first 5 or 6 series, and stuck with it after the move to scotland, but i have given up now and havent bothered watching the last 2 episodes. Actually, i guess that does provide a reason why it is doing badly - it has become one of the worst things i have ever seen - its actually embarrasing how it has even been allowed to be shown.

The bigger question is what exactly is happening in BBC Scotland's drama department. It doesn't seem to have generated anything in-house and the best it can muster is Shetland, a series made by … ITV Studios (based in London).

Compared to the drama juggernaut in Cardiff and BBC NI's success with The Fall and Line Of Duty, Glasgow is failing spectacularly to deliver - and Waterloo Road's demise only underlines that.

A far cry from Taking Over The Asylum, Monarch Of The Glen and Tutti Frutti …

David WIlson's Psychopaths which is 6 parts so no US drama on Tuesdays before March 24 at the earliest.

I'm guessing the thinking behind it must be a conscious decision to break up the US dramas a bit and create a more diverse looking schedule so no night feels too similar to the previous.

So at 9pm you'll have US / UK / US / UK / US programmes Monday to Friday as opposed to US / US / US / UK / UK. I daresay this will look better to the wider audience than two NCIS variants running on consecutive nights and three nights in a row of US imports, even though in theory this made the most sense from a ratings point-of-view.

I think only The Escape Artist and Case Histories might have been BBC Scotland's recent successes.

Silent Witness 5.53 (22.5% audience share)

Interesting to see Broadchurch +1 audience is the same as the +1 audience for Selfridge, despite Selfridge having a tiny total audience.

Does anybody know how Chelsea v Liverpool did on Sky? ITV Media still aren't showing Tuesday night multichannel ratings.

I think a lot of people on the Ratings Thread hoped it would be, Ratty, but ITV haven't scheduled it well. We all know BBC One's 9pm wheels tend to drop off in February and March, but ITV decided to lob series two into the schedules in what is usually BBC One's strongest 9pm month of the year, a month where they've had two nights of Silent Witness in five of the last six years (including this year). Madness.

One of the reasons Broadchurch series one was a hit was because they started it around the beginning of March.

Not ideal for either. Could c4 move IS to 10pm I wonder?

Theirs is the show most likely to suffer

Surprised the BBC have decided to disrupt EE on it's 30th week.”

I wondered when they needed to confirm because the choice wasn't obvious with Man U and Liverpool both needing replays. I thought they might have gone for the Bradford tie rather than risking having to show Preston v Cambridge. Which is not in the slightest inconceivable now.

Brave!

Good point. Forgot how the Barb numpties have screwed up the ratings!

Maybe all the EastEnders fans should calm down and stop getting irate about a scenario that they've just invented. The EE fans have a reputation here and in the soaps forum for a reason!

Regarding Waterloo Road, I've watched it since the start and thought I might as well watch it to the end, but it isn't acceptable for me to watch TV until 11:45 on a working day, and next week's is basically not airing on BBC1 at all, so I've missed the last two. Therefore I'm not surprised it's fallen even further than it was getting last series. It must be a very expensive drama per BBC1 viewer now.

Case Histories was good. Thrown to the wolves in its second series against Scott & Bailey I think. I enjoyed it more than Shetland.

Channel 5 should do another Cats Do The Funniest Things. Liked that one a lot. And I don't have any cats or want to.

I thought Broadchurch 2 would be like Sherlock 2 and have a more popular second series in overnights. Wild At Heart was strong for years but BBC1 put Sherlock against it in January 2012 and Sherlock won convincingly. Silent Witness didn't reach Broadchurch level ratings so I expected BC to be ahead confortably especially as SW struggled against Vera and Scott & Bailey in previous series.
