But, I wasn't aware anyone was doing that? Andy, put your paranoia back in its box and take the batteries out! The figures for EE are being given the wow factor because they're higher than expected. Corrie seems to be holding its own, so no disaster for them at all.

Anything for Rm101 with its 7m lead in and absence of Corrie competition?

Don't tell BBC fans that, they think they everyone watches it.

we can play that game with any show you care to name, so there is really no point in playing it.

I am just as interested to learn what is going on with Ian and Phil, DTC has done wonders for those two characters,

That is a really strong rating for a Wednesday episode, of course EE Live and the amount of promotion helped, but EE can sink on Wednesdays. Also excellent for CRBO, wonder how that compares to the views for Zoellas YouTube videos?

Callum is hardly the first soap comedy villain. Phil Michell used to scruff people up and then drink with them a week later every few weeks. The real scenario would be two harsh for a family soap.”

I agree it's unfair but during EastEnders 2011-14 Era EastEnders ratings were compared to big weeks of Corrie.

This week of EastEnders is not only good for The show but soaps as a whole. It shows Soap can get people talking once more.

As long as we supply the Samaritans helpline number to Andy, all will be well.

Icedragon did, but to be fair he also made the point that EE was out of slot.

Dont think you have to go that far back there were some doing the same when CS crash episodes went out recently.
Andy must have been on holiday that week.

I remember the three months or so when ITV was completely off the air in 1979, so we were down to just two channels, no daytime TV at all, and (for almost everyone in the country) no VCRs let alone catch-up, Iplayer etc.

It was a very different world! These days, the risk is that many people would not even notice. Mind you, I also recall hoping & expecting that three months off air would kill Coronation Street stone dead - and yet its audience bounced back to previous levels almost immediately after the strike ended.

Not spectacular figures for either, but I do like both shows. I'm delighted Reeves and Mortimer continue to have the opportunity to arse around, I think this is the best thing they've done for years.

Yeah, did alright in the end, and of course Room 101 is a valuable series for the Beeb because it can run in any slot and is endlessly repeatable both on BBC1 and other channels. One rating we haven't got yet is Would I Lie To You at half seven which was brand new, of course, the clip show from the most recent series, in its earliest ever slot.

I don't think "out of slot" can be used on this occasion. I can appreciate it if they end up shunting a normal episode to an unusual slot, like when ITV just fling a Corrie on a Sunday or like tonight show Emmerdale earlier. But this week of 'stEnders is a special week and has been heavily promoted as such, so there should be no reason why viewers are ignorant of it. It's been moved out of the slot into a really prominent one.

It's like when John Barrowman moaned about the series of Torchwood "only" being five episodes which was "a cut" in the number they previously produced. Without pointing out the five episodes were shown on five consecutive nights in the most prominent slot imaginable.

Why is it always you that replys to my every post, making out a single post is a major deal. I've now been referred to three times just for making one post all because you singled it out. I'm very close to leaving this thread as obviously my posts are not wanted.

ITV won't go off air anymore than the BBC go off air when they have a strike.

Playout is sub contracted to another company

And there you go again. Singling me out. Why keep mentioning me? Because I'm the only one who doesn't just post a load of anti ITV one liners and actually discusses stuff properly?

Lighten up man, surely you can see it was a light hearted joke? I reply to any post I like, not just yours. Over the last few days I have replied to several posters and you.........er twice! Hardly consistent. But, if you're going to be precious I have pleasure in informing you that I will never reply to one of your posts again.

Decent for EE for a non regular Wed slot. Up against Liverpool tonight (a 4 million+ rating) should give EE a 10m+ figure.....

I thought Midsomer would have rated higher, though I noticed it also clashed with Bake Off. Good for CS, also BBC 2 steady between 8pm and 10pm with a 10% share.....

I feel like the word buzz has been used too often in this thread today.

Anyway...

Another good showing for Live Week on EastEnders. It'll be interesting to see if it can maintain any of this momentum in the weeks to come or not. And Comic Relief Bake-Off seems to have benefited from being part of a stronger schedule.

So WILTY (the other week) and Rm101 both getting about a million more away from Corrie and Fridays. 4m+ very decent figures. Maybe these shows could do regular good business at say 8pm Thursday married up with some other comedy (ideally an old school sitcom) at 8.30 like in the good old days.

Talking of which we watched Count Arthur's final episode last night. Hilarious. What an improvement this second series has been. Please repeat it all in primetime BBC1!

Yes, last nights BBC1 schedule reminded me when he had good, solid schedules back in my early years!!! It was a great nights telly on BBC1. Full of variety and EE has been exceptional. #HowsAdam asides, the cast and crew are all doing a fantastic job!
There is a good buzz about the show right now! (Sorry Alex, couldn't resist. You inadvertently gave me ammunition and I had to fire it! )

The One show has EastEnders chat tonight at 7

I wonder if the One show could have one of it's highest ratings in ages with more people tuning in for EastEnders ?

Death in Paradise could do very well to. (not that it doesn't usually)
