Top Gear ratings went down in the 90s when he left and the programme went down the crapper.. He returned with Andy Wilman to revamp the show. A huge part of the success is down to him. For many people he IS Top Gear.

Do you really think that.

Indeed

The Top Gear of today is a completely different show to the one pre-Clarkson, its the same show in name only really. It's obvious the show is built around him. Saying they could just replace him with anyone and just review some cars without an issue is an unlikely situation.

Some of those ratings look low for BBC daytime. Must be unpopular with some of the old folk.

Great to see something different on ITV after the news in Pop Gold, never seen it promoted, but some classic telly clips from itv shows over the years.Mostly Tyne Tees shows so far by the look of it.

So around 700-750k inc+1 and HD I would guess. The share should be around 16-17%.

Given that its grown from the low only last year, I see no reason why It can't increase further. From what I've seen they have improved on the original they started with.

I've no idea. Sounds like BBC1's version of Judge Rinder.

Worth pointing out the first episode pulled in a fairly miserable 620k (6%) last week, well short of the 1m (10%) slot average.

It includes the same night results show though, the first XF live show was the same length with the same number of acts (admittedly with adverts) but with an hours results show on the Sunday so probably almost exactly the same length in terms of programme space

ITV makes biggest acquisition yet by paying an initial £355 million for Talpa.

The Link is being put against Tipping Point which is a stupid decision. WPC56 is good but not as popular as Father Brown. The Legalizer isn't even hitting 1m and most times in that slot BBC1 is over 1m.

The crazy world of TV!

ITV buys Talpa Media. So they might not beat The Voice but will make money from it.

Or at ITV scheduling meetings. Will this mean further 'surrendering' on quarter one Saturday's?

Definitely, ITV know they will be better off keeping it on BBC1 and putting up a weaker schedule on ITV to boost TVUK. If you can't beat them join them eh?

It's a repeated Watchdog-like series from 2013.

I know EE is in a lull at the moment and scheduled at arkward times this week, but who is watching CS? That's even worse!

Said it before and will say it again, it needs to venture out of its comfort zone. Have something so shocking happen, it gets a ton of complaints.
