The Island was on last year. There was some controversy over it with calls it was fake and staged in places. It was a rather enjoyable show though I thought.

Perhaps, though they're probably trying to avoid period drama overload. I know Jonathan Strange is a very different twist, but with Poldark and Banished already on air - there is a danger of too much of a good thing. It's an issue they might confront quite a bit in the next few years, given the look of their drama slate.

Does anyone know how BBC News at Ten did last night (was it boosted by Comic Relief?) and how Gogglebox did including +1?

Many thanks!

ITV's new show You're Back in the Room is absolute car crash TV. One of the worst things I've seen in a long time. What are ITV playing at serving up this utter dirge on a Saturday night? Doesn't even deserve 2m viewers.

I'm actually shocked how bad this is. I genuinely thought it might be quite entertaining, but it's truly dreadful. Seems really fake and isn't funny in the slightest.

Needs to be axed. Now.

It's making Harry Hill's Stars In Their Eyes look like top quality entertainment. It is so completely fake I'm actually shocked. Bring back Splash.

I was about to post the same. I only watched the first 10minutes before turning over Its awful. Truly awful. And ITV wonder why they are loosing viewers when they show such crud.

It deserves to flop hard. I know there are shortage of new format ideas, but this is not it. Instead they waste Bear Grylls Mission Survive on Friday, and promote Mr Ego himself after Takeaway.

I agree. Surely Bear Grylls could've done well in the post SNT slot. Probably better than it's doing on Fridays.

It must be bad as you give a lot of ITV stuff a chance. Worse than Harry Hill's Stars In Their Eyes?

Yes, I can't think of a worse show I've seen. Haven't laughed once. Just a load of actors being idiots.

It would've done. Probably around 4m-4.5m, appealing to the younger audience opposite an older skewing BBC1.

I wouldn't be surprised to see You're Back In The Room below 2m next week.

I do, but only if its worth it. I have given the same amount of time to SITE as I did with Phillip Egofield's new show. Just 10minutes.

I'm not watching, but the tweets about the show are very funny. Let's just say that it's not going down well!

You're Back in the Room will take up the Takeaway lead in for the rest of the series, then Britain's Got Talent starts - goodness knows what they'll pair up with that. Ninja Warrior is waiting to air and that might have potential.

I wonder if ITV might have had a bit more luck had they got Phillip Schofield to do Stars in Their Eyes and Harry Hill to do Back in The Room? Might have been more natural fits.

You were right when you said Cohen hates Clarkson, as he's just compared him to Jimmy Saville

The BBC aren't very good in closing down stories like this, time and time again they run and run and end up out of all proportion. I can't see Top Gear ever returning, in any format, the way things are going

That story has possibly succeeded in shifting some more sympathy to Clarkson. You couldn't make this up!

I think you've just libelled Danny Cohen.
