Also it's just impossible for Danny Cohen to have suggested that the BBC was engaged in turning a blind eye with regards Jimmy Savile, that would never be his viewpoint. Nor of any other senior BBC executive.

But it is the viewpoint of the Daily Mail.

So, insane as it appears, the Daily Mail made up a quote. Or did they? It's all just a saga now.

Something must have happened leading to the incident but The Mirror and Daily Mail also have a vendetta against Clarkson.

If Clarkson goes Top Gear will take a long time to recover, if it recovers at all. If Clarkson gets off and does return can you imagine the ratings for his first show back?

The BBC aren't very good in closing down stories like this, time and time again they run and run and end up out of all proportion. I can't see Top Gear ever returning, in any format, the way things are going”

Cohen never actually compared Clarkson personally to Saville.

I feel very little sympathy for Clarkson anyway; I feel sorrier for the producer. He got the blame for whatever upset the presenter and is now getting death threats.

Did you actually even bother to read your own link?

And the Clarkson defence from his fans is basically, he's a laugh and they want to watch Top Gear.

We still don't actually know what happened. The family that saw the incident at the hotel said they heard shouting, nothing about anybody being hit from what I read.

That whole article just screams made up, ridiculous Daily Wail bull crap- Why anybody reads it or even worse believes it is beyond me (It certainly wouldn't be the first time they printed a made up story)

Playing Stars in Their Eyes with a straight bat would have probably been more successful, even if that meant 3m an episode. And I can see Harry Hill working on You're Back in the Room, especially with the celebrity chef game.

Not sure what to make of You're Back in the Room now I'm watching it. It's certainly different but The Generation Game (amongst others) has already proven that members of the public can make complete pillocks of themselves without being hypnotised.

Now H of De Vil, I did think about posting a link to this for you as I don't want you to explode here on the forum. So please read it calmly.

I think possibly the best line of the interview is this one "For the live itself, we're not 100% sure what we're doing"

I think that explains partly why Corrie is such a mess right now. The live episode is about 6 months away. Are they just making things up on the back of a napkin?

It's like a limbo dance, just when you think the Daily Msil can't go any lower, it surprises you and goes to its lowest level ever. I do not believe a word in the DM saw it in the shop that's the closet I get to it.

I imagine the appearance of Anthony Cotton on Takeaway last night put a few viewers off. Certainly did me.

It's an interview with Executive Producer Kieran Roberts who is generally popular around here though, not Series Producer Stuart Blackburn.

No, but that's the point I was making. The headline is what all many people will see and we all know people don't read the stories anymore especially those ones when the last a paragraph contradicts the whole thing.

Rather than closing down this story after a day or two, the BBC are allowing it to run and run by not explaining officially what happened and making a final decision. Everything from the start when they used the unusual word 'fracas' and left it at that makes this story quite odd.

I see Dave are being very clever making a big point of how they are showing Top Gear at 8pm tonight.

Well considering the bland lot Rita Oral put through, the viewers will taper off.

He actually wasn't too bad and Ant and Dec's stich up of him was very good. I hope the show manages to hold around the 6m mark.

It makes me wonder what they have planned for Britain's Got Talent week. Normally it's a big storyline to pull the viewers in but nothing's been released yet.

The problem is the fact he's so egotistical completely puts off watching him at all. Several people who've met him that I've heard, said he's so full of his own self importance and rude. Not that I've met him, but his stint on IAC suggests it might be true.

Do the itv ratings usually take this long on a Sunday?

You would hope that they have something big lined up for BGT week. From reading the interview it does seem to be that the show is simply ticking over with nothing noteworthy to come.
