You would prefer Masterchef to be on for 21 weeks instead of 7, followed immediately for another 21 weeks by Celebrity Masterchef, getting it over in 14 weeks rather than 42 much better i'd say.

Must be a reasonable chance that ITV will before long be airing an 8pm Sunday night studio based motoring show with Clarkson, May and Hammond, which would be quite ironic given how TG thumped ITV and left it trailing in third place sometime.

Not only is a ratings busting, demographic to die for rival off air, ITV gets to air the new incarnation and the global revenue.

How could the BBC be so stupid?

Why not just axe Clarkson from all BBC programmes for 6 months and send him on an anger management course?

Evans made it fairly emphaticly clear this morning he won't do Top Gear, which of course means he'll be announced as new head Top Gear presenter within the month heh

The BBC are really not making the situation any better with all the speculation going on for over two weeks.News channel speculating like everybody else, would love to see them just take a camera crew up 5 floors to Lord Halls office and ask him what is going on.

Continuing Top Gear Live would be both a means to protect the brand while keeping Clarkson off the air. Though dependant on the outcome of the report (the actual outcome, not The Telegraph's "exclusive" version), there will of course be much debate on the morality / integrity side of it.

Either way, I wouldn't want to be Tony Hall, today.

Is it my imagination or do the ratings get later and later every day ?

You're shallow but honest! Thought the first episode might have thrown viewers off. Gald to be proved wrong.

Since Ronant had his ratings access restricted we have to wait for news. This is like going cold turkey!

For those who thought Homes Under Hammer was getting towards the end, Dion Dublin joins Martin and Lucy.

I'm not that surprised by Ordinary Lies rising, it was generally well received and there was less competition this week. It's also a similar style of drama to In the Club which also started relatively low before rising throughout its run.

BBC Two's Back in Time for Dinner adding 890k week on week is a lot more surprising to me, haven't watched it yet so don't know if this rise is down to how good the first episode was or not.

BBC Two's Back in Time for Dinner is actually surprisingly good.
I think this kind of thing has been done before, but this time around they have managed to make it very entertaining and a good look back at how things have changed.
The family they have used are lovely, beautiful well spoken daughters and a mother who is really expressing well what she finds difficult about each decade.
It is extremely watchable.

I am surprised by Ordinary Lies doing so well, it has some of the worst acting I have seen in anything in a long time. But strangely kind of watchable all the same.

Also said he used to work for BARB, "knocking on people's doors"

Fancy that!

Clarkson won't be sacked - but his contract will not be renewed - The Guardian

Will definitely give it a go then, although my catch up list is already unmanageably long as it is.

All semantics really as it runs out this year anyway. I doubt The Guardian and Telegraph have their facts wrong. Would be a shocker if those reports were wrong.

And there was me thinking they just had hundreds of repeats on rotation! Dion Dublin joining Homes Under The Hammer is another to add to my 'didn't see that coming' list.

A more important question might be where have they got their info from?

Runs out next week. By simply not renewing they presumably avoid him suing for unfair dismissal

Lefty Guardian readers at the BBC who cannot contain their excitement.

Maybe even from Cohen himself?

That's a good question. We saw with Richard Keys and Andy Gray that after the initial off air incident talking about a female lineswoman, lots of off air footage from over the years suddenly came out. Grudges?

That's a very good point.
