I don't watch but my instinct would be downmarket female chav tone. You've got Kyle but This Morning is so tacky and then Loose Women. Shame as TM would be default viewing if I had the day off. My Dad who at 86 watches in daytime would never think of putting ITV on.

It's a good show. Stumbled across the repeats and got hooked.

Why did it do so well on Tuesday but not on Monday?

Does that Mel & Sue rating include +1? It doesn't seem a bad show but for some reason people aren't watching it. Ratings are similar to what Light Lunch got all those years ago. Just proves Tipping Point should be at 4pm.”

mel and sue are on the wrong channel and in the wrong slot

My gran and aunty are the sort of people watching itv at 4pm on a weekday. They won't watch mel and Sue.

It was a very good episode of EE - it seems they have got the momentum now.

GMB still in a rut - probably because they are chopping and changing the presenters every day while Breakfast (of course) is stable as a rock.

SW ratings are really astonishing. 18 series mulitple cast changes and now up against one ITV biggest hits and still pulling in the punters. I have to admit I did think it was going to suffer thia year.
Also shows that 2 programs can go head to head and and both prosper.

That daytime chat show slot has been there since The Time, The Place but it does feel very tacky with Kyle's show and more down market than what's around it. Is the Kyle demo the same as the rest of the ITV Daytime shows?

I daresay you're right. It doesn't feel like a great fit.

Awful rating for it. The fact it rated lower than any of their other daytime shows (post 9.25) speaks volumes sadly.

You can see why ITV did it. Mel & Sue are popular on Bake Off, give them a show. I'd have expected it to get decent numbers. But I'd have put it in the Titchmarsh timeslot.

Momemtum certainly seems to be the word for EE right now and improved share as well. CS must see a bit of boost for the crash though surely?

Maybe people are just sick of chat shows - I mean its all been done before hasnt it?

Mel and Sue can't work on ITV daytime, relative to ITVs other stuff they are too intellectual.

You need nice Ben Shepard and his Blackpool Pleasure Beach themed quizshow. Afternoon ITV is for OAPs.

Mel & Sue would work as a sunday morning alternative to CH4s Sunday Brunch.

Or more likely because the content is still crap.

They featured a dog on a tightrope yesterday.

It's safe to assume now that people definitely knew it was on but don't want to watch it. ITV shouldn't be that low at 4pm.

And when EastEnders gets momentum it usually coincides with an imminent Emmerdale clash.

And right on cue one comes along shortly. Still think it wont harm them too much. If people are wanting to watch they will as recent ratings tell us.

Perhaps, like me, some people find Mel & Sue, really annoying. I know this is against the thread norm but that's how I personally feel.

Within Bake Off, I find them ok, but I wouldn't watch them in anything else.

On another note, 1.7m for Fr Brown and Doctors, excellent.
