Isnt the problem that Mel and Sue are now a bit BBC, for ITV viewers, first the one with dark hair, does that BBC 4 realitys how Mastero, now they both present Bake Off, the BBC kinda rehabbed their careers, ITV has sought to cash in and has failed.

Ignoring GMB, the rot sets in with This Morning. I'd imagine Judge Rinder would do better after Jeremy Kyle.

People keep saying axe Jeremy Kyle, it's their most popular morning show!

Move This Morning to afternoon then show Judge Rinder at 10:30.

Surely you could say that about anybody though. Wasnt Titchmarsh the epitome of BBC presenters and he transfered ok - probabaly lots of other examples as well.

Christine Bleakley, Adrian Chiles, Susanna Reid, Julia Bradbury, Mel & Sue, the woman who presented Escape to the Country, it's just the latest in a long line of BBC poach failures.

Excellent share for EastEnders, and great for Silent Witness to bounce back so strongly, could suggest Monday's episode has already added a lot on timeshift (or that the default brainwashed elderly don't care if they've missed the first part. )

The episode before a clash nearly always rates well and is usually the highest rating of the month, then it isn't able to match it again for ages after the clash. So I'm fully expecting to see a rating around 8m next Monday, only for it not to get anywhere near until the anniversary.

It held up better in the last one, but was still dented a fair bit. 5.80m/26.9% against Emmerdale's 5.99m/29.3% on 7th October.

maybe Ground Force, and Gardeners World viewers, were also ITV viewers.

in fairness Mel and Sue have not been high profile "poach" targets, and obviously will continue to work with the BBC, on the far more succesful Bake Off.

Caught up with Broadchurch ep2 and I can see why some are unhappy. Thought its become very contrived and melodramatic and the least said about the ending the better. Maybe it will improve though and the ratings dont seem in danger.

ITV head honcho Peter Fincham took credit for luring Chiles and Bleakley from the BBC but he's been remarkably quiet about Reid, Bradbury etc. The evidence seems to be that BBC viewers don't follow the personalities - even Morecambe and Wise discovered that and they were not remotely comparable with the above.

I thought we'd been here before, didn't Mel co present the 5 o'clock show with Richard Hammond? That bombed aswell didn't it?

An afternoon show called 'This Morning'?

BBC One, The Ink Factory and AMC today announced a co-production partnership for the television adaptation of John le Carré’s novel The Night Manager. Multiple Emmy® nominee Hugh Laurie (House) and Tom Hiddleston (The Avengers, War Horse, Midnight In Paris) will star in the six-part series, which is set to begin filming in spring 2015. Susanne Bier, who won an Academy Award® for In A Better World, will direct.

I wonder if 580k is a good, bad or average day for GMB since Xmas?
GMB are currently advertising for a senior planning producer. Maybe even more changes on the way? If Susanna Reid did get the sack she would have no complaints about the lack of promotion for the show. I seem to recall Adrian Chiles was dumped shortly after Daybreak changed the shows editor. So perhaps if GMB advertise for a new editor that will be the time for the presenters to start worrying (if they are not already worrying)

It's happened before, infact it happens everyday day. 25% of This Morning airs in the afternoon. Maybe ITV will keep it until it starts falling behind GMB?

If I worked at GMB, I would be concerned for my job, unless you're on an old GMTV contract, then you should be safe

It's still not getting what Daybreak got regularly before it was axed. It needs to do better.

Am not surprised EastEnders was up on Monday giving the episode and Cliffhanger. It's like proper EastEnders with a number of storylines happening alongside eachother.
Plenty of drama and shocks with lighter scenes from kush,Mas and the Cokers thrown in.
Highest share for sometime too isnt it?

I hope the BBC pulls it's finger out and builds the hype for the 30th.

Silent Witness i don't usually watch but really enjoyed Monday and Tuesdays episode.

Emmerdale up as well too.

Regarding The EastEnders and Emmerdale clash.
Enders has big episodes Mon and Tues next week with
Spoiler
Dean being Arrested for rape
So it will hold up despite being dented i think.

So I see Stu Blackburn seems to be in denial about Corris woes then. He may need to have another look at the ratings for Corri and EE. Plus he needs to realise they won't be winning many awards this year.
