Well, it is, because Broadchurch is on ITV+1 at 10pm.
That is very true, I didn't even think to mention that.

It would of course be hilarious on many levels if Stars actually won - the most damning sign yet that singing shows are tired and need resting. Not gonna happen though!
IIRC we had a similar 'never gonna happen' post before SNT went up against TVUK for the first time, when everybody thought TVUK would squish all over SNT, but then lo and behold it came closer to being the other way around. Nothing's impossible.

#BBCNews (10pm): 5.02m/25.0%

Wow - massive figure for the BBC News at Six! It's not often it matches the Regional News figures.
Underneath ronant's Twitter post there are some interesting comments. Besides an amusing skirmish between a BBC and an ITV journalist, there is a peak given for Sky News on Friday: 713k (5.71%).

Is SITE hosted by Ant & Dec then?

Um actually if I remember correctly most people were saying SNT would destory TVUK, and it didn't.

People know these days that TVUK is like The X Factor so may not tune in. Stars in the eyes looks more interesting anyways. Also I posted in this thread 252 times before

Going by the GMB preview it doesn't. Plus I disagree the Voice in my eyes is better then the Xfactor as it has judges I actually like for a start.

True and may I say what lucky buggers the ones that didn't see it are then. Which just so happens to be a lot 😂

If things weren't already looking grim for Ofcom's inbox today, they are now. Nothing in it for me but away from CBB drama, Charlie Nicholas is causing controversy on social media for this remark made on Sky's popular scores programme Soccer Saturday:

What's that got to do with it? Employing Ant and Dec as host doesn't automatically mean good ratings. See also: Red or Black.

As friend of the forum Ian Hyland has tweeted, they do look very very similar. Especially on a tiny monitor, whilst live on TV, I can imagine it would be difficult to tell them apart. Still, probably not the best thing to say in the current climate.

You mentioned Saturday Night Take Away, which has rated well and has A&D involved. Nobody mentions Red & Black.

I mentioned Saturday Night Takeaway putting up a jolly good fight with TVUK when (IIRC) very few on here expected it to, because SITE is being written off in much the same way.... Just saying 'but SNT has Ant and Dec' isn't necessarily valid because not everything they're in rates well. SITE has also been away for longer than SNT was before it returned - and didn't feel as tired when it was first axed as SNT did either.

There e point of reference was Saturday Night Takeaway putting up a jolly good fight with TVUK when very few on here expected it to, so SITE being written off so readily isn't the most out-there comparison in the world... SITE has also been away for longer than SNT was before it returned, and didn't feel as tired when it was first axed as SNT did either.
As I've said I I'll think you will find many actually thought SNT would destroy the Voice.

However unlikely it seems, I don't think its ITV's most stupid idea ever airing Satr in Their Eyes against The Voice. Air it any other time of year its in the summer death slot, alongside X Factor or alongside Britains Got Talent so this is really the best time of year for it to air. It would also probably struggle against Call The Midwife on a Sunday, so if it is to air on a Saturday it may as well go directly against the Voice because people won't want to watch 2 singing programmes in one night. Had they aired it a week early then those with mild curiousity would have switched tback to the Voice this week, air it a week later and the Voice has become people's preferred choice. Rita Ora doesn't have the appeal of Kylie and there doesn't seem as much interest in the Voice this year.

Of course having said all that, Stars in Their Eyes will probably do poorly, but if it does it'll be more to do with the fact no one wants it revived than its slot.

Yes, I agree. Looking at more recent tweets, most seem to be taking the sensible view that nothing offensive was said. I wonder if initially some that were watching live might have misheard what he said slightly?

Either way, they were able to get an apology out before the programme's end. I can't see any more coming of it. But it does scare me just how easy it is now for a social media storm to be started.

It's just the way of the world at the moment, people love any opportunity to overreact to anything.

EDIT: just to clarify, that absolutely wasn't a reference to this week's events in Paris, sorry if anybody took offence.

Episode 5040 of Eastenders has been written by Sarah Phelps - so expect a serious roller coaster of emotions episode in March. Sarah wrote the big explosive episodes which included the return of Den and then his eventual demise.
