I read it on here last week. By "we" you meant "I" then?

It'll depend on the budget though surely, something like this will cost them hardly anything so it's ok but I wouldn't want BBC Two to use their drama budget to save BBC One dramas. BBC Two shouldn't be a place for BBC One's castoffs. If it was then the people making ridiculous comments about things being "hidden/tucked away on BBC Two" or saying how all their good programmes "should be on BBC One" would actually start to have a point, and that really can't be allowed to happen.

True budgets come into play but an expensive drama is an expensive drama whether it is on BBC1 or BBC2. Wolf Hall and Banished on BBC2 aren't done on the cheap. They seem to rewrite the rules themselves. The X Files went from BBC2 to BBC1 when it became really popular then back to BBC2 when its popularity waned.

Bit ridiculous and over-the-top after two pictures and one teaser-trailer.

Yes, but the BBC Two drama budget would be a lot smaller than BBC One's so while they can still do the big expensive dramas like Wolf Hall and Banished (with the help of co-producers) they can only do a few, and that number would be cut even more if they had to take on "axed" BBC One dramas as well. I think it would be a shame for BBC Two to have to produce less dramas that fit their channel perfectly (like Line of Duty, Peaky Blinders and Wolf Hall) to also pay for those that couldn't find an audience on BBC One.

So Wonder Of Britain binned from ITV prime time that must be the first time they have binned a show like that in at least five years

When exactly was the last time ITV did that to one of their shows

Also really pleased that Judge Rinder has been a success it,s one of the better ITV daytime shows IMO

If the drama was still funded by BBC One then it won't be a problem. As the BBC2 budget is still full.

I know someone who has been filming for a new series with Michael Portillo.

Seems that the Daily Mail will not be happy as it is planned to strip it Monday to Friday over 10 episodes, 2 weeks, in the 6.30 pm BBC 2 slot he has for railway journeys.

This show will follow up unusual stories (3 per episode) discovered in the national archives from recently released material.

Planned to air this Spring.

Since he asked Michael I can report that there will be a series 7 of Great British Railway Journeys for (presumably) Jan 2016 - to be filmed this Summer.

Pleased to hear that as it is an enjoyable show.

It doesn't work like that though. The only case where it does is in repeats: I believe the cost of a repeat comes out of the original channel's budget, regardless of what BBC channel it's repeated on.

Promising new factual entertainment coming to Channel 5 in February... presented by Quentin Willson and Jodie Kidd.

Looking at the trailer it's got high production quality. It also features Steve Coogan, Jennifer Saunders, David Gandy, Tinie Tempah, Bruno Senna and Sir Stirling Moss.

I must admit that picture does make the characters look quite tacky for the new series which is disappointing, but then again I find the moving picture can sometimes look better than th stills. Remember this is a mixture of CGI and live action sets.

Channel 4 and Channel 5 really want that Top Gear type of show don't they? Channel 4 have For The Love Of Cars and Guy Martin's Speed. Channel 5 have The Classic Car Show.

And again in the afternoon ITV are damaging their own schedule by moving TP earlier and placing Mel & Sue at 4pm. What does go through their heads you have to wonder. Even the thickest person could see moving a winning formula of TP and The Chase should not be moved, but no ITV schedulers know best. Stupid, stupid, stupid. That's going to be 5 long weeks The Chase will have a weak lead in. The fact its managing 3.4m with a lead in almost 2m below BBC1's Antiques Road Trip is impressive. If it still had TP lead in I'm sure it would be hovering around 4m.

ITV need to swap Mel & Sue with Tipping Point now.”

Spot on H!

Good news-just starting to catch up on this years. Still as easy going and watchable as ever and with a refreshed intro too. A true success in its sixth season. Not so sure about his dress sense though-I predict psychedelic trousers in series 7

Interesting happenings in the US where FOX look to be sitting on one of the breakout drama hits in recent years. Empire, which started strong last week with a 3.7 actually grew to a 4.0 in its second week.

I wouldn't be surprised if a UK pick up happens soon, could see it on Sky1, FOX or Channel 4. Channel 5 already has a full slate but I could see them going for it.

Yes, I just got a friend to watch this show and she asked what he looked like. I suggested she get her sunglasses, turn on the TV and that bright blob she then saw would be his latest jacket.

I suppose we need to give it a chance although if it really is going to be shown on citv and not ITV I doubt many will see it anyway. Are we still thinking this is true?

I think it was some time in the mid noughties when the naval drama Making Waves was pulled and never shown again due to low ratings. Prior to that the infamous Celebrity Wrestling was moved to Sunday mornings due to terrible ratings.
It's not something broadcasters do that much in Britain, preferring to allow most programmes to run their course to see if ratings will pick up even if they know the shows are a disaster.

If it's all as good as Cyberbully, it going to be an excellent year for Channel 4 on the drama-front. Really looking forward to Indian Summers and Cucumber.

Any channel picked this up over here yet? Probably suit Channel 4, or Channel 5 maybe.

BBC Two acquiring NBC's Odyssey is a strange one, they rarely pick up US drama and if they did I thought it would be something like The Affair, or even Outlander. Speaking of Outlander, Sony has said a channel has picked it up so I wonder why whoever's picked it up hasn't announced it yet

CITV in the morning with an ITV simulcast - this is what ITV themselves were telling potential sponsors and we have no grounds to think otherwise.

Thunderbirds is taking a battering on the internet, my god ITV seem to have screwed up with this one, motion may or may not change things, but people will not be watching it at 8am now.

"International Rescue" might be pertinent - this could refer to a domestic flop being saved by overseas sales (see Titanic).

Too many people with too much time on their hands passing judgement on unfinished pieces of work.

Welcome to today's world.
