True and that's probably why they are scheduled against each other. But interesting that football/UC appear to have a greater crossover (perhaps as both are more male-skewing than EastEnders).

You wouldn't necessarily think Richard Wilson's programme crosses over much with EastEnders either; perhaps it doesn't and this week's -1.0m fall was down to it being the second episode of a brand new series.

That makes sense. I don't know if it's to compensate for not having two series last year, or if it means we won't get two series this year!

Silent Witness (07/01) - 8.49m
Celebrity Big Brother (07/01) - 3.65m (3.44m excl. +1)

Utterly monstrous consolidated figure for Broadchurch, consolidating over 3 million from the overnight number! When you see the consolidated figure for Silent Witness, it is very easy to see why both damaged one another in this week's overnights.”

That is an utterly insane rating for Broadchurch. Just crazy! I would prefer to see the overnights a bit higher and timeshift lower, but you can argue with a rating like that. Makes you wonder if Corrie and EE will even go that high anytime soon.

Also fantastic for Silent Witness. Never seen it myself, but those are two brilliant ratings. Someone at work even told me I should watch it the other day as it's really good. It's good to see UK drama doing well. I would be nice to see even more dramas rate so highly.

Only probably !!

BTW those figures for SW are well over 0.5m up on last years opener. So with BC up as well not everything is down as we keep being told.

I imagine if it gets similar ratings to The Fall or Line of Duty, I'm sure they'll be thrilled. Rome lost half of its audience throughout the run so clearly audience tuned in but didn't like what they saw. The competition at the time was Crimewatch which did 4.5m and Star Wars on ITV with 3.5m.

Yes Rome fell away quickly but Line Of Duty and The Fall stayed high across their series. If Wolf Hall can get 3m a week that will be a success in line with the best performing BBC2 dramas. I think it will go higher.

CBB extended to 10.30 tonight due to the entrance being added to the eviction show. Might cause issues with non-tape-checked ratings tomorrow.

EDIT: Radio Times paper version has: 9-CBB, 10-BOTS, 11.30-Live from the House. Not sure a 90-minute BOTS would ever have been contemplated?

The character has since taken a Holiday with her Boyfriend who is aware of what has happened. There was also a Happy Christmas wedding to Rob and Karen

The Daily storylines have been fairly good but Doctors is such an easy viewing soap and very consistent.

It's so nice to see the soap doing so well. It's about time the BBC gave it a repeat slot.”

That's a lot going on! No wonder people are hooked on Doctors at the moment.

Overall I thought it rated well for what it was.”

I scored my first ever 5er on the ratings prediction game for Cyberbully! I think Cucumber will perform a lot better next week, as it looks more mainstream.

First time I'm watching CBB this series - I think it's the most explosive highlights show I've ever watched! I think it'll manage to crack 3 million tonight.

Cucumber I think will be 2-3m, it's been well promoted by Channel 4 both on screen and off. Not sure about Banana.

Channel 4 has Indian Summers soon, wonder where that'll go, Sundays at 9pm would be good but would mean facing both Mr Selfridge and Last Tango in Halifax/Poldark.

Thanks Neil.

BBC2 should be getting some great ratings with Top Gear and Dragon's Den.

Outstanding ratings for both Broadchurch and Silent Witness. I would love SW to keep rating at 8 million consolidated for the rest of the series.

Indian Summers is due next month. I was thinking it would be on Sunday but that would mean a period drama clash. I think Cucumber will do well in consolidated but Big Brother will be competing with it for the young demo.

Cucumber doesn't strike me as a young skewing series especially as the main characters are middle aged. I think it's meant to be a one-off but I imagine Channel 4 would want a second series if it does well

Benidorm was shite tonight. I really think ITV have destroyed its legacy by letting it carry on once the garveys have left.

I hope Benidorm suffers a large ratings drop tomorrow as it will teach ITV a lesson not to carry on shows when the main characters have left.

I would still bet Benidorm does not see much of a ratings drop if any.

So Big Brother has finally got Katie Price, tabloid editors will be salivating at a house featuring Katie Hopkins and Katie Price, to go along with the already volatile atmosphere. Can see it getting its biggest ever C5 ratings next week.

Yes . Dragons Den threatened to go away in series 10 a couple of years ago, several episodes under 2m, but it's bounced back recently.

BBC One really do do some funny things in the post-Graham Norton slot on Fridays - last week it was a repeat of Joanna Lumley meet will.i.am, this week it's a repeat of a random episode of some 'Bluestone 42' army drama I've never even heard of never mind seen IIRC The GN Show always gets easily the best ratings for the 10:35pm slot all week, so they could do with commissioning a regular show to go after it to capitalise on the lead-in really. Or maybe give the excellent 'This Week' a regular repeat slot.

Bluestone 42 was a comedy drama shown on BBC3 and got good reviews I seem to remember. So I have heard of it but like you never seen.
