I'm expecting DOI to pass Corrie in the officials to become the most watched show of the year so far...but i think its going to be very tight at the top. We'll find out next week!

“2 - 9.84m - Comic Relief (Fri, BBC1)”

Disappointed with that TBH, weren't the overnights 10.2m?

How come the drop? Did BBC Scotland show something else?

Quote:
“4 - 9.65m - Dancing on Ice (Sun, ITV1)”

Nothing spectacular is it? Is the final the only show to break 10m in this run?

Quote:
“5 - 9.20m - Kilimanjaro: The Big Red Nose Climb (Thu, BBC1)
6 - 8.53m - Comic Relief Does The Apprentice (Thu, BBC1)”

Wow, big figures and decent timeshifts for both. Bodes well for tonight's return of The Apprentice proper.

Who'd have thought Kilimanjaro would be one of the top shows of 2009 with 9.2m? I wonder how the Saturday afternoon repeat did?

“10- 7.07m - Comic Relief: Top of the Pops (Fri, BBC2)”

“Multichannel Top 10

2 - 1.37m - Horne & Corden (Tue, BBC3)”

Weren't the overnights 0.7m for this? It doubled its audience if so on the official figures.

Wow.

It was 0.82m. Still a big jump up to 1.37m official, though.

I also wondered why it had fallen from the 10.3m overnight figure. I can't really think of a good reason because I think it was shown in all regions.

It's hit 10m once prior to the final. It was the night before "Snow Day".

It's not the absolutely spectacular ratings that X Factor, Strictly or Britain's Got Talent gets, but still brilliant ratings.

Sorry, ep 3 got 10.01m.

So, just two editions of DOI have broken 10m in 2009.

A show on the slide?
Overkill?
The SCD rip-off factor hitting home?

I wonder if BBC Scotland did show some regional inserts that resulted in BARB, the bastards, knocking its official figures down for the full 3hrs?

Anyone know?

The show's series average is about the same as last year, perhaps about 0.1m down once all the officials for the series are released. It's held up very well; no real indications to show the programme is on the slide.

It must be a crisis if only 3 THREE shows get 10 MILLION in a series

I'm sure ITV are very happy with DoI ratings for this year, and there's nothing to suggest it won't perform strongly again next year.

I tuned in to BBC1 about 8.45pm tonight so I didn't miss the start of The Apprentice whilst I was browsing the net.

of course. Its the contestant mix that determine whether it hits the big big numbers or has to make do with only 10 million

I'd be 99% sure that they didn't. Certainly can't remember anything coming from Pacific Quay and CR is traditionally UK-wide whereas CiN does the regional broadcasts. I can't see why the figures have changed so much, though.

After the 9.2m success of Kilimanjaro, I wonder when ITV1's new Sunday night D-list 'Celebrity Mountain Climbing' extravaganza starts....?

I read that last year once the Apprentice started, the 8pm show got a significant boost. I think it might have been Traffic Cops. The second half hour would sometime rate around 1m above the 1st half hour, so boosting it's overall average rating.

Lol . I must say, I didn't enjoy this series as much as last year and I'm slightly surprised that's it's rated about the same. I suppose the finale ratings indicate that last year was more exciting, certainly the conclusion when either Susanne or Chris could have won it.

On a similar note, how do you think John Barrowman's Got Talent will do when it starts?

Will it do as well as Let Me Entertain You?

Didnt Let Me Entertain You get over 6 million some weeks?

If they'd actually called it that - 12m?

Probably be a flop. I hope so, the Beeb should stick to coming up with the original formats, and letting ITV put out the pale imitations.

Looking at the latest official ratings, I see the 10.35-3am slot for Comic Relief didn't make the Beeb top 30 - didn't that have a big overnight figure of something like 4.5m+?

I smell a rat...

Expect decent ratings for the Apprentice tonight. The discussion thread is on 36 pages, that's just 8 less than the finale thread last year has got since it was posted, 9 months ago. Not my favourite opening episode though.

I wouldn't have thought so. It was on BBC2 and only lasted 2 series. Thought ITV were remarkably slow in getting Britain's Got Talent on air, first piloted in 2005 and not on air until mid 2007 (by which point it had already aired on NBC and one or two other countries).

If they stick to ripping the piss out of TV clips, it might fill the void left by TV Burp moving into Harry Hill's surreal world of glove puppets and dancing jellies...

The overnight rating reported by DS for the later Comic Relief broadcast was 4.95m between 10:35pm-02:00am.

But the show ended at 3am, so it is possible that the entire broadcast averaged less than 4.4m, if that final hour rated lowly.

I read about a Jimmy Carr version of TV Burp in some paper or other, but weren't they just mistaking him taking over Commercial Breakdown for a new TV Burp type show?

Tbh, I find Charlie Brooker's reviews and commentary far better than either! Though perhaps not suited to a 6.30pm slot on Saturday evenings.

Huge timeshift (percentage-wise) for Horne and Corden on BBC Three. Just goes to show we need to be careful jumping to conclusions on shows from their initial overnights (though they were pretty decent too). Particularly on the digital channels, timeshifts and iPlayer views make up a very significant proportion of their views.

Little consolation for the commercial channels who miss out on the ad revenue either way, but how exactly people access shows won't matter to the BBC.
