Probably not available until tomorrow evening...DS is often first to publish them (for fri/sat) these days. There may, however, be some Primeval ratings via the Doctor Who website ratings correspondent before then.

One question I have...why haven't ITV placed Colour of Money against Doctor Who and move Primeval to after Britain's Got Talent? OK, it's late for a family drama to be on then, but I think it'd do better than the position it's in now, where half hour of it will clash with Doctor Who. Will be interesting to see what kind of audience Colour of Money retains from the 9m+ Britain's Got Talent is likely to bring in...but for me, very bizarre scheduling decisions.

Flooding Easter Saturday afternoon with films and crime drama repeats seem very uninspired as well. And is it me, or does the 'evening' News on BBC seem to be airing very early?

News is on early so they can go from Final Score right into Finding Nemo, presumably because Final Score is at a fixed time and they want to fit in Finding Nemo before Doctor Who to give it a good lead in.

I think they picked a good movie. Biggest box office hit they have available that has not been shown to death.

BBC1 will perform excellently from 4pm - 7.45pm, then again from 9.20pm onwards.

ITV1 have a great slot for Britain's Got Talent, in prime position to scoop up Doctor Who's audience, but they have given themselves no hope of great performances outside this one show, essentially giving up with You've Been Framed and Colour of Money. They cant expect any of those to do well.

I assume You've Been Framed and Primeval have been swapped in the hope they get people to watch Primeval and miss the start of Doctor Who, leaving them with 30 mins to fill before Britain's Got Talent. Quite smart, but not as smart as if they had a better schedule in the first place. Where are the big family film premieres to pull out on these occassions?

A big premiere, Britain's Got Talent, Primeval would be a great schedule, but I suppose they have a stricter budget now.

I guess they could've held back with Robots for a week and aired it next Saturday to go alongside Britain's Got Talent and Primeval. It is pretty smart of them pull Primeval back to start before Doctor Who, but will people realise about the change? And are they hoping for a sudden leap from Colour of Money thanks to the lead in when a popular drama is on the other side? Arguably, the ITV schedule is not poor, but with BBC bringing back Doctor Who alongside the reliable shows I don't think it'll stand much of a chance. You're right, they could and should've done more with it.

Looking ahead Hell's Kitchen may do alright on Easter Monday with Corrie lead-in and BBC1 going for a 2004 film about King Arthur.

But I think it will struggle, being off air on Tuesday and returning against The Apprentice on Wednesday.

Having said that though it has no real competition Thursday and Friday.

It was reported on comicbookresources.com a few days back that Primeval isn't going to get a fourth series anyway, so maybe ITV aren't that bothered about shunting it about the schedule now.

Tbh, I can't really see what more ITV could have done about Primeval. That's a big Britain's Got Talent episode and they'll want people to see the whole thing because it's going to be playing out the Kelly Brook scenario. I tend to think 90 minutes is too long for these shows (it didn't work with the XF boot camp episodes either) but perhaps with this "special event" it will be OK.

I don't think BGT will benefit from Doctor Who. There's no chance of BBC running on time that night. They'll either run over or get Robin Hood on before 7.45pm.

Also, in the US, Dollhouse is pretty much finished. It got its lowest ratings of the series so far on Friday night.

Dollhouse arrived stillborn anyway, It would have to have been the funniest, most action packed series JW has ever done to survive in that slot.

And it wasn't.

god NO, by all means cut back on eastenders to 2 episodes a week and get rid of that rubbish waterloo road but don't touch the two shows i actually look forward to every week, but i agree with the rest of your post.

9.54 million according to Digital Spy, people obviously wanted to see the fallout from the big Thursday episode.

I think they need to cutback om all of the soaps as the huge number of episodes burns out storylines, actors and writers, leading to middling shows most weeks and then a big storyline show every few weeks. The quality and the ratings have also suffered because they're on too often.

You're right, there's too many soaps on TV and too little variety.

But what ITV will argue is that if they did replace a few episodes of the soaps, the replacements would most probably only get half the audience the soaps gets.

They're getting rid of one episode of The Bill, which is a start I guess (even if it was due to financial pressures). Peter Fincham has said in recent months that there will be more mid-week entertainment shows on the channel. I haven't seen anything like this yet, but if it happens it is a step in the right direction.

Well for that we must be grateful, BBC1 could do with more weekday variety as well. If it isn't an hour long continuing drama it's a populist factual show with Rogue in the title or Masterchef or A.N. Other.

A few more variety shows and a couple more sitcoms would be nice, as would a film every so often between 8pm and 10 pm.

We still got three months of Millionaire to be slotted back into Tuesday nights but it seems ITV would rather show six weeks of Cops on Camera first.

Corrie seems lower than usual, but I'll wait until others report before a full judgment.

Corrie does seem very low considering the boost for EE. EE is considerably up on its Friday performance, but Corrie seems lower which is strange, because you would think the Corrie sandwich around EE would have made more soap viewers watch Corrie around Eastenders.

Great night for BBC3 it seems with its Eastenders themed programming and EE's BBC3 showing is around 0.3m up on its usual Friday performance...and in a later slot!

It's a shame about Moving Wallpaper-I watched Friday's episode almost knowing it would be the last-ITV would be stupid to recomission a programme with a series average below 2m surely? But it is a fantastic programme and is well received, but like many other excellent shows it has a very limited audience. Maybe ITV2 would be a good change for the show as it must be fairly cheap to make. Personally I think it's a big change from the usual comedies ITV produce and a lot of ITV's audience haven't grapsed it yet. Though ITV really didn't do the show any favours at all bringing it forward for some strange reason and scheduling it in the same slot if flopped in big time last year.

Fair play to him though. Refreshing to read that in contrast to all the Echo Beach stars that proceeded to slag the show off after it flopped.

According to the Radio Times website Colour Of Money on April 18th is on at 6.15pm. That means in a 5 week period it will have gone from 6.45 to 8.20 to 7.55 to 9.15 to 6.15. That's a really great way to build up an audience. (Primeval seems to be experience similar scheduling as indeed did TV Burp.)


Traffic Cops is its competition on the Thursday and actually that tripe is capable of attracting a decent audience when it's on against weak opposition (as it will be on that evening.)

It could get taken up by ITV2. Critical acclaim and the possibility of attracting an audience close to 1m? Also ITV2 would probably schedule it better than ITV1 did.

BBC Three had a good one for a Friday.

I'd love to see MW return to ITV2. It really is a fantastic show.
