I dont know why people are surprised about Hell's Kitchen.

It was obvious that missing a night then going up against The Apprentice was going to be a disaster.

It'll slowly rise again, with barely any competition and good lead-ins coming up, right through until next Wednesday.

I thought it was poor on monday to be honest, it did nothing to make me want to watch again. It just lacked that certain spark.

i'm also unsure as to why they didn't launch it in the middle of Britains Got Talent. Ie have 1 show of BGT, then Hells Kitchen, then more BGT. Which would have seriously improved its potential audience.

Hell's Kitchen is shit without Angus Deayton.
He must have made up about 50% of the show.
His sarcastic narration which dumped on the celebrities was what made it funny for me.
For HK to be just another celebrity arse licking show where just seeing celebrities is so 'nice' does nothing for me.

Watched CBS News last night. They've got a reporter in Bathgate and they told people to join them on The Early Show this morning where Susan would be singing live from her kitchen, lol.

I presume you mean, bang in the middle of Britain's Got Talent week? I don't think I'd see ITV move all of the soaphour forward to accomate it, I just can't see them ever doing this:

Grand Designs isn't doing so well for C4 this series, its 2million or so off what it was getting last year

Don't get me wrong, I thought Susan Boyle was great and deserves lots of praise.

But you know what? I think people get a bit carried away with themselves sometimes.

I wasn't expecting Hells Kitchen to fall quite so much, but if you look at the opposition last night, virtually across the board, it becomes a little unsurprising.

The trick will be how it recovers tonight, with much easier opposition. If it can climb back up into the healthy 4 millions, then it'll look fine - but if it fails to find a substantial boost, it could be a long couple of weeks...

Why on earth would it pick up? The show is dire! Marco Pierre Sodding White is as entertaining to watch/listen to as drying paint and Claudia Stick Insect is an unappetising replacement for the aserbic wit of Mr Deayton.

As a reviewer noted about the slebs taking part:

"they're all well beyond their sell-by date and, like the food they try to create, just as disturbing to look at"...

This show is no longer about cooking - it's about crass cliched advice "don't fear the stove" and lots of shouty bits... crap, in other words.

Hopefully this format will die this series. Time for ITV to get off the reality treadmill and try and come up with original interesting TV (a very long shot, I admit )

no i meant last saturday, as an initial boost to the show, and it could have had its 2nd and 3rd shows on sunday/monday, before it had its night off for the football.

the colour of money wasted most of its BGT lead in, so was clearly not of interest to BGT's audience.

the trouble for her is she won't win IMO

this hype has come far too early, and we'll see many more exciting acts in the auditions, she will then presumably perform in one of the early finals rounds, and again suffer from lack of hype come the final itself (if she reaches it of course)

it'll do wonders for BGT's audience though i feel, can see it reaching a new peak if saturday night is bad weather etc

ITV dont have the money to do anything but reality tv. Hence why they are looking for more of it.

For the Saturday 25th April schedules, Radio Times is currently indicating that The Colour of Money is back at 18:30 with Primeval at 19:30 and BGT at 20:30.

But the ITV Press Centre is saying that Primeval is at 19:00 and there's no sign of Colour of Money.

Can someone with Digiguide please confirm which one's correct?

The link that someone gave only states what AIs are supposed to be about.

The reality of AI is that they are mostly high for practically every programme within a series, only dipping for the odd episode.

It's understandable really, people who choose to watch a TV series are more likely to like that series and therefore rate it consistantly highly, apart from the odd experimental episode.

When there are so many channels/programmes why watch something you dislike? People now rarely stick with a programme they don't like whereas a few decades ago people actually did!


One-off dramas and films that people have not seen before can high a slightly lower AI, but rarely really low because you can just change channel before the hatred really sets in.

For the BBC, AI is a political tool. It has no real meaning and does not indicate anything much anymore.
