Does anyone know what Total Wipeout Fast Forward got on friday?

And also, does anyone know if the episode of That's What I Call Television, on saturday the 9th of may is a repeat or a new episode?

Top of the Pops failed because music availability is now at extreme levels on satellite and the internet. It used to be the only mainstream music show on tv. Also, in its heyday it was a family event, at the end it did not know where to pitch itself.
Have to say, as someone who used to wait impatiently for the radio chart rundown on Tuesday at 12.45, I dont know who is in the charts at all these days and Im not sure what would make me tune into a new version of TOTP.

No, what you do is bring in two fresh faces never seen before. So it's a blank canvas. Audiences won't know what to expect, but they'll definitely be anxious if the BBC market it well. And the BBC are masters at good marketing

I don't think TOTP would ever work in its current format- it would have to be revamped to make it into more of a magazine show and in theory should be pitched at 16-24 year olds, but would they really want to watch something their parents watched?

I think they should bring back TOTP Reloaded instead on a Friday or Saturday afternoon. If on a Friday let it take over 5pm hour but don't brand it as CBBC or on Saturday as a lead in, in the place where they put Total Wipeout or Hole in the Wall etc.

TOTP works a lot better as one off events but I think TOTP Reloaded would be more fitting for todays TV market.

BBC1 seemed to rate low all night it seems with ITV1 ruling the schedules and there's not that much BBC1 can do to change because ITV now have a fixed schedule. Putting Tonight up against BGT would see it slump below 3m and if Robin Hood went against BGT, then the lottery would need to fit somewhere else. BGT right in the middle of ITV's schedule has buggered up BBC1.

52% share of the audience in primetime for effectively a clip/audition show is fantastic and noone can deny that.

Probably since the same week the previous year. This week has seen the first real signs that BGT is now holding together the evening for ITV.Robin Hood, which is in its best series is really lost where it is and is suffering-ITV is mopping up later on. Youre right there is little the BBC can do and what would be the point anyway.
However these highs are momentary, ITV is still losing share. You can't have BGT and big football matches every week.

Incredible ratings for BGT. I'm actually astounded that it managed to increase it's ratings from last week. The final could be massive at this rate.

I thought BGT would lose at least a million this week, not gain another 300,000. It looks like some of the people who might have tried it out last weekend have stuck around and last nights show was far better than the second one. It's getting ratings that I just wouldn't have thought possible for a regularly scheduled programme these days.

I think that was the point where it seriously started dying.
As soon as they thought that bringing in younger presenters to try to be hip and trendy was the direction to go in that was the point where the ratings started to collapse.
So what did they do about it?
They tried to appeal to an ever younger audience with each successive incarnation of it.
Go figure.

Absolutely enormous ratings for BGT! At this rate, what can we expect from the final - 14m, 15m???

Outstanding rating for Britain's Got Talent last night. I thought it would rate lower than last week due to the warmer weather and less media coverage than the previous week, but it looks like people are sticking with it and word of mouth is pulling in more viewers.

It's such an impressive figure- it would have been one of the top weekly rating shows ten years ago pre-digital age. Even 20 years ago, the rating wouldn't look out of place. The 5-minute peak of 13.2m (55%) is exceptional, although it is slightly down on last week's 13.5m.

Primeval rated better yesterday compared to previous weeks, however I read that apparently ITV were hoping for 5.5m for last night's episode. And the likelihood is that it won't get recomissioned, or if it is lucky to then it won't be on air until 2011. It costs nearly as much as Wild at Heart (which won't be coming back next year), so it's not looking too great. I'd like it to come back, though, as it's important that ITV have at least one family drama like this per year.

Robin Hood isn't rating well, but I think it's being put on too early. It should either be up against Britain's Got Talent where it could see a boost due to the later time slot plus non-reality viewers switching into it, or perhaps even Primeval where I think it could beat the ITV show (based on past performances).

The BBC are also making a big mistake regarding the scheduling of Casualty. It's no good starting it while Britain's Got Talent is on. They should be starting it as soon as BGT finishes, so viewers from ITV1 can switch over. That little gap between the NL and Casualty could be occupied by BBC News. Unfortunately for next week, the BSI have made the same mistake again by starting Casualty 10 minutes before BGT ends.

They have put the news inbetween the lottery and Casualty next week, but ITV then shifted their line up 15 minutes later, so that it added nothing to BBC1's schedule.

I think the BBC should have reacted to ITV's slight change to the schedule, by putting everything back 15 mins or by extending the news slightly.

So, that means neither will be back until 2011 if that's true. In which case, I can't see them renewing Primeval, not sure about Wild at Heart though.

Also, apparantly the Benidorm one-hour special is on Bank Holiday Monday.... I'm going to guess that either BGT takes a day break, OR:

Yep, I heard that the Benidorm special would be May 25th. I was slightly surprised to hear about the change to BH Monday (it was originally pinpointed for Saturday 30th) as I'm assuming that the Britain's Got Talent semi finals show will be that day.

Your schedule looks like a good possibility. I wouldn't be surprised though, if it went like this so BGT doesn't clash with EE and affects its potential figure:

I would have liked Benidorm at 9pm, but I don't see that happening for that particular day.

The third series of Benidorm is supposed to come back in October/November this year. Unfortunately it's highly likely to be the last one due to the credit crunch, unless the show gets massive ratings. A shame because it's one of my favourite shows and it also is I think ITV's most popular comedy.

As if BGT started at 7.30pm, 8pm or 8.30pm then BBC1 would move EE so that they start at the same time. They wouldn't move EE to 7pm, and they wouldn't have it clash with Corrie, so the schedule above is best as it means that BGT would have a head start on EE.

I don't think that Benidorm should air there really though, although if it does, I reckon it could get 7-7.5m.

As for Saturday 30th, which, according to rzt, was the original plan, that wouldn't work either, as it would also be too full, and Mumbai Calling will benefit from the BGT final that night.

It's share was very good though - about the same as last year's and the best of this series so far. Primeval also sells well abroad and has a merchandising line associated with it which brings in money. I'm sure they'll try to bring it back if possible.

The producer said that ITV want them back for series 4 (as long as it gets acceptable ratings) but they may have to delay production a little until finances can be worked out. It is normally filming around this time of year so obviously it's not going to be ready for next Jan. Perhaps they're wanting to put it into Jan 2011 to run at the same time as DOI again. After all, it got good ratings for its first two series there and they won't have Demons to go there...

I agree that the share was good. But the share doesn't matter to the advertisers. It's about the raw number of viewers watching 'live'. 4.9m is better than the last few weeks, but it is still about a million down on the two previous series.

ITV have made a few cock-ups regarding the scheduling of Primeval unfortunately. Firstly delaying it for the Spring for the rubbish Demons. Then putting the first episode partly up against Robin Hood. Then starting Primeval so early in the Doctor Who week, when it would have been more appropriate to either miss that week out or simply put it on at 9pm following Britain's Got Talent.

Yeah, that looks good, and Benidorm could probably still get 7m at 10pm, with a BGT lead in, and ITV would have a very strong night.

The Benidorm repeat may not be such a good idea, though, as the last episode isn't really suitable for an 8pm slot.

Indeed. Still it has settled a bit now and recovered some what so with any luck it can push above 5 million in the coming weeks. It certainly has improved in quality.

The silly thing is, if they'd put it on in Jan it probably would have easily it got that, if not more. It was ready to go then too.

That's why I wonder if this production delay mentioned may be their way of pushing it back to that slot in light of Demons' failure. They need it there more than they need it at this time of year.

It's a good alternative to EastEnders, but I guess it would depend on how muchit would need edited. I remember the story, but I have no idea how much swearing was in it or anything.

Casualty should start at the end of BGT though maybe ITV are trying their hardest not to let it happen. However Casualty still beat Hells Kitchen so has some resilience-maybe some viewers crossed early from BGT. At the end of the day BGT is only an hour amongst a less than spectacular schedule so there should be scope for the BBC to score something along the way.
One thing that is apparent-7 million people joined ITV at the start of BGT and 7 million left afterwards (well roughly anyway).It just shows how hard it is to maintain audience these days.

Looks like the BGT-X Factor franchise is the new Millionaire, and BBC1 will just have to take the pain, like it did in 1999-2000, until it runs out of steam and viewers get bored.

Millionaire was pulling 19m at one point, now it gets beaten 2 to 1 in the ratings by Holby City, so there is some hope for BBC1.

I watched some of BGT last night. I really don't get it. A corny and trashy remake of a US import, padded out, false and scripted expressions from the judges, it's hardly ground-breaking TV.

I assume the title's ironic?
