A good night for ITV1 again. I'm really glad Law and Order: UK is doing well for them. The channel seems to have Monday nights sorted now.

By the way, am I the one of the only people who prefer News at Ten to the BBC News at 10? I always like to watch the News at Ten on ITV, I don't know why though.. but it seems the majority of viewers disagree as BBC News does better in the ratings.

Just been watching the trailer for red riding:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YL3qypfj8DY

From the reviews it's been given on here and the actors' comments here, I'm so p*ssed that I missed it. I think I'll download it / get the dvd and watch it in installments.

Hate to be picky , but was this from the 9 to 10 hour, or the 10 to 11 hour, and what is the source?

Technically the top 3 for cable is:

1. WWE Entertainment - USA - 10pm - 5,359,000
2. WWE Entertainment - USA - 9pm - 5,206,000
3. Hannah Montana - Disney - 7.30pm - 4,538,000

I just threw the two WWE shows together.

Except perhaps on October 9th 2008. Surely it beat Natural Born Sellers' measly 1.6m?

No I agree with you. I don't know what it is-maybe that it doesn't seem as formal? I'm glad its ratings are increasing and people are realising it's the best news bulletin that comes from ITV. Also it's pleasing ITV have given it the full 5 day treatment now which must show that they are committed.

HIMYM doesn't seem to do as well without the BBT lead in and same with RoE with TAAHM. Castle was down but I expect it will renewed for next season, NBC and The CW didn't do well at all.

Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill have really been damaged from the hiatus plus competition from House and DWTS. Even Secret Life of the American Teen is outrating them and that is on ABC Family. The fact that Smallville and Supernatural are doing well suggests that The CW's approach for targetting females 18-34s isnt working and perhaps they should broaden it to young adults 18-34 instead.

FIVE benefited from poor competition and Extreme FIshing is performing fantastically now.”

I was glued to the "filler doc", it was fascinating stuff.

As for Mondays at 9pm, its only an hour per week. ITV have used some strongish stuff all year in that slot so it may have been counter productive to have tried to battle it-especially with the same style of programming. WDYTYA did reasonably well so it wasnt a complete dead loss.

Next Saturday at 4.35 in the afternoon a new series of Hole In The Wall. There seems like strange scheduling given that last Autumn's series perform quite well in its pre-Strictly slot. In fact it did so well the BBC repeated the first episodes later in the run to catch the new viewers who joined the programme mid-run. Perhaps new BBC1 controller Jay Hunt is not a fan.

Of course it can't stay in this slot because this is Final Score's slot and that's only off for one week because there's no premiership football this weekend.

I would be intterested to know what the Joesph Fritzel doc on Sky One at 10pm last night got. It was very good actually & not in the least a shock doc. Most of the interviews were subtitled & the interviewees spoke at some length.

Really? I honestly thought it was axed. Now these episodes look like they recorded in the same block as the other series. So I'm wondering if there will be anymore after this.

Good rating for News At Ten last night but it always does better after a drama. The audience seems more compatible. And interestingly in the BAFTAs ITN's News At Ten has been nominated for Best News Coverage and not BBC News.

Well deserved for John Ray's scoop on the chinese earthquake. Ray had quite a few scoops this year so hopefully he wins.

I'm not even sure I'd class it as 'good' - better than normal, certainly, but when the normal figures are so terrible, and it still loses after such a healthy lead-in, there's nothing for ITV to be too pleased about.

News At Ten is a good bulletin it's just that it has been away for so long the BBC established their bulletin in that timeslot. It's scary to think that ITV might ditch ITN altogether and get their news from Sky.

I got an email today from ITV Media talking about upcoming dramas in May and June. Blue Murder returns and there is a new adaptation called Compulsion that looks interesting.

BBC drama has been really disappointing since the Autumn with only Survivors grabbing me. Ashes To Ashes, Waking The Dead and Doctor Who can't return soon enough for me.

For News At Ten it's good, but still with such a huge lead in it can't overtake BBC1. The BBC News increased on its lead in while ITN lost a chunk from theirs.

That's good to hear the show has been sold abroad. I think it's definitey got potential to run for years. If ITV schedule a re-run of the series during the summer in a decent slot, I think the new episodes being shown in autumn could actually rate higher than this current mini-series.

Speaking of ITV shows being sold abroad, Billy Connolly Journey to the Edge of the World has been acquired by the Seven Network in Australia. The senior VP at ITV Global called the show "a ratings juggernaut in the UK". While it did bring in some good ratings, that's a bit of an over-exaggeration, lol.

A ratings tonka-toy , possibly.

Not that I wish to diss this fine programme. I enjoyed it. A better class of ITV factual.

(And actually, if ITV think this was a ratings juggernaut, then that increases the chance of them commissioning more of the same.)

Wasn't there rumours that L&O UK was going to be sold back to the US to air on cable? Has that been confirmed yet?

Classic salesmen speak

If Billy Connoly is a "ratings juggernaut", what the hell is X Factor?!

Good to see Law and Order doing nicely. Its definately a keeper, and with strong international sales looks set for a good number of years to come. Its the kind of show that can fluctuate with individual episodes (mostly depending on the competition) but can always bounce back the next week.

International sales are a potentially lucrative market for ITV and one they're clearly looking to work with. If they can translate a few of their new 2 or 3 parters into series, then you'd think they'd be looking good to sell them too.

I agree with Cylon6 about BBC drama so far this year - its been pretty underwhelming, with only Mistresses and Hustle that I can think of appearing new in the weekday 9pm slot. Should improve somewhat into April now - and it seems like they're saving plenty for summer like they did last year too.

The success of The Eleventh Hour on CBS must be doing good business for ITV. Isn't that a Granada co-production?

Yes it's the very show based on the ITV original. It actually beat it the more buzzed about US remake of Life On Mars.

No, Dick Wolf was talking about a Saturday slot on NBC. Another option is, of course, BBC America. Or else it could air on NBC's sister cable station, USA.

Yes, with Jerry Bruckheimer Television and Warner Bros. It's doing OK and will most likely get a full second season. And I think it might keep its Thursday 10pm slot.

I still like it but tbh, I can see why it has lost viewers. The original concept was ordinary people with superpowers and that has been lost.

I haven't seen anything. Could it fit into ITV3? Otherwise, I can see it heading to Living who seem to take some "second tier" US shows and repeats. Sky1 have bought rights for Lie To Me.

The show is dead in the UK now. Time BBC Two bumped it to 10pm at least.
