I can't believe they show Underbelly on a main channel at 9.30 in oz. It's said sometimes that australia has stricter censorship rules than here, but if Underbelly was on a main channel at 9.30 here world war 3 would start.

(Underbelly is one show that deserves it's bbfc 18 certificate, it's a wee bit naughty to put it mildly).

Not quite the same I know but Find Me a Family didn't rate so well for C4 last week. For that reason I have my doubts as to whether it would work here.

Interesting ratings battle when the American Overnights come in. American Idol Final on FOX versus Dancing with the Stars Final on ABC, though I think the ABC 8pm show maybe a repeat of the night before?

Glee (9pm, FOX) will have one of the hardest starts imaginable, not only up against the Live 2 Hour Dancing with the Stars Results Show, but also opposite a new The Mentalist on CBS. CBS are fighting the Reality TV opposition at 8pm with a new NCIS.

NBC have given up for the night, unsurprisingly, airing a repeat double bill of Most Outrageous Moments, followed by a repeat of Law and Order: SVU.

There are video previews of a lot of the new US shows on The Futon Critic.

ABC seems to have chosen very well and got a lot of good stuff. Happy Town and Cougar Town stand out as particularly good. They made good use of the Writers Strike and kept dozens of shows in development - all paying off for them now.

NBC's new shows are frankly abysmal on the other hand, juding from the previews - every single one of them.

By the way, does anyone here need/want a diwana invite? If so, PM me. I have up to 14 waiting to be sent out if anyone needs one.

Regarding Eleventh Hour, it's sad news for ITV studios because that's cash lost, but what's stopping them from airing it in the UK. Monday night slot, which is a strong position for the channel now, promote it well...could bring in decent ratings.

What's a diwana invite, if you don't mind me asking?

Glee is being marketed as an "extended preview". It premieres properly in September.

It's been getting really good reviews and it does look compelling. Not really my thing, but I can see the appeal.

I think Glee will do well tonight but i think it may struggle later in the year but it has tough competition from DWTS and The Mentalist.

We still dont know the new CBS schedule, but it quite possbly will be The Mentalist.

Thanks dubsj! Pretty low ratings all around last night and the the clash is seriously hurting both soaps as we enter the Summer. Holby is holding up well and proving it doesn't need the lead in as it's level with EE! I think we could see Holby beating EE as progress into the Summer.

I actually expected Holiday Showdown to increase considering the poor competition in the 9pm hour, but at least it remained steady. Though awful numbers for 8-10pm for ITV1 and they will be glad that's over!...untill Ladette To Lady Australia airs-sub 2m?

Another good screening for CSI, boosted by the weak competition and the NT repeat performed decently as per usual.

Excellent for Blood, Sweat & Takeaways, but I half expected it to do well as many returning BBC3 shows seem to be doing better than their first time round and there wasn't much of interest on terrestrial, as seen by the ratings.

Thanks dubsj.

I thought A Place In The Wild might have done a bit better than it is, but BBC1/ITV1 were utterly uninspiring between 8pm and 10pm last night.

Divided didn't lose too much from Monday and I think you just need to give these shows a while to settle in and find an audience.

BBC1 has commissioned a new sci-fi thriller called Paradox, which is a 5x60minute series. So i'm guessing that this will be another drama stripped over a week. More info at http://www.broadcastnow.co.uk/news/2...ite_drama.html

Saturday 22nd May 2010:

UEFA Champions League Final
The Eurovision Song Contest 2010

Unfortunately it looks like Eurovision will agree to move out the way.

That would have been a fantastic clash of the titans.

I think there may have been a lot of broadcasters who show both though and it would probably have been impossible.

Just to note, Hope Springs has been removed from the BBC Press Pack for the week 30 May - 5 June.

Many here were thinking Sunday's, but some thought 8pm whilst others thought 9pm. If they did want it in the 9pm slot, they probably don't want it going up against the Benidorm one-hour special, and think they'll have more luck against Kingdom the next week.

The BBC Pictures website still has it down as 31/05/09 for the Transmission Date. However, the time hasn't been given.

You might be right, though. The BBC might delay it a week to avoid clashing against Benidorm. We'll definitely find out this evening.

Low for EE. First time Emmerdale's been ahead of EastEnders in a while. A Place in the Wild is definitely rating lower than I expected. I thought it would be getting 3-4m.

Multichannel Top 10
1 - 1.93m - Uefa Champions League Live: Chelsea v Barcelona (Wed, Sky Sports 2)
2 - 1.74m - Britain's Got More Talent Auditions (Sat, ITV2)
3 - 1.62m - Ford Super Sunday (Sun, Sky Sports 1)

6 - 1.20m - The Inbetweeners (Thu, E4)
7 - 1.07m - ER (Thu, More4)
8 - 1.04m - EastEnders (Tue, BBC3)
9 - 1.03m - Lost (Sun, Sky1)
10- 0.99m - Britain's Got Talent (Sun, ITV2)

Once again, Britain's Got Talent tops the weekly charts easily. The BBC dominate the top 10 6-4. Primeval just misses out from the list at 11th place with 5.34m.

The Alternative chart is topped by the Apprentice spin-off show. The Da Vinci Code rated highly, placing it in 2nd place for the week. I think the movie was Five's 3rd most watched broadcast of the year, behind CSI and Mentalist. A good week for both BBC2 and Five who had 4 entries each.

Football tops the Multichannel Charts with the satisfying Barcelona victory over Chelsea. Britain's Got Talent has 2 entries in some shape or form. ER gets a top 10 place, I'm guessing it was the George Clooney episode.

A HUGE rating there for E4 at 11pm on a weekday.

Most people on here tend to overlook the later slots, but that rating for a multi channel at 11pm? Fantastic!

Question re HD channels:

On BARB, the BBC HD channel is shown as a separate channel. But what about all the Sky HD channels, eg Sky Sports HD1 etc. These are not listed.

Are the ratings for Sky's HD channels included in the figures for the SD version of the channel or are they in the figures for "All Other Channels" at the bottom of the BARB list?

Sky now has over 1m HD customers - that's 1 in 9 Sky customers so it is becoming a significant number. See the link below - Sky had an HD audience of 300,000 for the Carling Cup Final and before that 266,000 for the Liverpool v Chelsea Premier League game on 1st February.

Have these figures been included in the reported ratings which may not have included the separate HD channel?

I'm assuming that there are seperate ratings for BBC HD because its a unique channel, not just a HD version of BBC1 or BBC2, etc. On the other hand, Sky1 HD, etc are just HD versions of the SD version.

Since April 2008, any HD channel (Stand alone or 100% simulcast) have the option to include simulcast HD figures to a SD reported rating. Sky's HD ratings are included in the SD ratings.

For whatever reason, the BBC however chose not to include any of their HD content and will continue to report two separate figures.

CBS has just picked up Medium.

They are also going to move Big Bang Theory to the post-Two and Half Men slot. GREAT news for Big Bang Theory. It was getting 10m viewers anyway, but they did a one off experiment this season where they moved the episode with Leonard's mother (a particular good episode) into that new slot and it got 13m viewers.

The Mentalist moves to Thursdays 10pm, after CSI.

Flashpoint will air Summer.

The Mentalist moving to Thursday and The Big Bang Theory moving to post TAAHM slot. I wouldn't be surprised The Mentalist air at 9pm once or twice to see if it can takes over the slot in 2010 now that CSI has weakened.

I don't like the name of NCIS:LA, I think OSP would have been better.

Sounds an interesting series, but I love the way that it is described as a fantastically bold new idea when anyone who watched the sadly too quickly cancelled 'Crime Traveller' will see more than a little similarity from a decade ago - so neither really bold or new.

And that also had one of Tamsin's Eastenders ex co stars as the lead.
