Looks like the series of Casualty 190? are getting longer and longer

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/a1506...alty-1909.html

Six-part run this time round and a very precise start date thanks to DigitalSpy - Thursday 7 May. Are we thinking an 8pm slot for this once My Family has finished rather than the usual 9pm (Sunday) slot its had when it's aired previously.
Great - another reason to avoid BBC One. It's going down the swanny just lately. Thank goodness for The Apprentice.

Low night for BBC One and ITV1 with BBC Two, Channel 4 and Five taking advantage.

The Lion from Harrods did very well for Five and it was a good documentary as well. CSI was down but still comfortably above the 3m. Channel 4 did okay with SvS and Heston continuing to do well. BBC Two did well with Coast which surprises me a it's a repeat and Horizon did well as well.

I thought the last "series" was on a Sunday?

Normal ratings last night.... but doesn't anyone else think Holby is a tad lower than usual?

Mistresses still underperforming for its final episode and I doubt it will be recomissioned now. It seemed to slope off as the series went on and I don't have high hopes for All The Small Things.

Decent enough night for BBC2, ITV1 and CH4 with Holloway remaining steady and performing much better than I imagined. If the factual programmes on a Tuesday can pull in 3.5m+ then that's pretty good I think as they must be fairly cheap to make.

Very strong night for FIVE with CSI continuing to perform well and the 8pm slot doing the business as usual.

Interesting news from ITV today about Fern Britton & The Movie Awards being axed. I'm sure ITV will try and find someone cheap to replace Fern. Good decision imo about The Movie Awards being axed as it will save some vital money in an awards ceremony which isn't cared about much.

The National Movie Awards being axed isn't really a surprise as it did badly for the last two times it was on. Regarding Fern leaving This Morning, I wonder if Ruth Langford will get promoted to do five days or even Holly Willoughby who was quite good when she replaced Fern when she was off.

But then Holly Williobooby won't be able to do Celebrity Juice.

Five Comic Relief-related shows in BARB's latest week's top 10. The main event on Friday night posted 9.83m, which is about 0.5m lower than the overnight rating. The broadcast was up by 0.11m on the 2007 event. Comic Relief: TOTP performed brilliantly to get into the entire week's top 10.

The Alternative List obviously has TOTP well ahead of the rest. Good week for Channel 4, with 5 entires in that list.

The Multichannel list is quite different from the previous few weeks, as football dominated in the ratings. Two Living TV shows regarding Jade in there, which performed brilliantly for the channel.

As for the most watched programmes of the year so far, a balanced top 10 between BBC1 and ITV1. About a quarter of the year gone, and the Wallace and Gromit repeat is still in the top 20!

I'm sure she could. Xtra Factor might be a struggle though, unless they give her time off.

No, because My Family is a 9 part series that runs until the end of May.

And I think they moved Casualty 1907 to a post-watershed slot last year so they could show more grisly medical stuff.

A move to Thursday because the ratings collapsed quite sharply during the last run, which was a shame. I like this programme.

US Ratings In Brief:

Obama coverage was tightly run between CBS, ABC and NBC at 8pm. CBS won in viewers (more than 10m), NBC won in the 18-49 demographic. FOX trailed.

At 9pm, NCIS did 17.54m and 3.9/10 while DWTS had 15.71m and a 3.8/10. Both were well up on last week with no Idol competition. The Biggest Loser may have had half as many viewers, but it matched DWTS in the demo.

At 10pm The Mentalist was top for CBS with 17.53m and 3.8/10. The Biggest Loser drew 10.37m and won the hour in the demo with a 4.4/12.

CBS won the night in viewers, NBC won in both demographics. FOX was a distant fourth, with only 4m for their Obama coverage and the same amount for a House repeat at 9pm.

Full Details.

I bet you someone will be impressed with that.

I wonder if DOI Final will get 2nd for Most Watched Show of '09 so far?

I guess FOX won't be showing anymore Obama speeches this season.

CBS, ABC and NBC took advantage of no Idol as they were all up and NCIS and The Mentalist and The Biggest Loser did fine outside of their current timeslots. DWTS did well coming second. It will be interesting seeing the 9pm battle when Fringe returns in two weeks.

It will be interesting how The Apprentice does tonight but also seeing how the other terrestrials compete with it. Last year, they all but gave up with low ratings for ITV1 and Five but this year I think they may be a bit more competitive.

Regarding The Apprentice there certainly seems to be a lot of buzz surrounding this series after the huge success of last year, but as others say it has tougher competition this year. I'm expecting something between 6.5-7.5m I think.

Also on a different matter could DOI just snatch it as the most watched show of the year so far when officials are released? It will pass EE for sure, but it will be touch and go as to whether it can get past Corrie.

The networks are talking about rotating coverage if he continues to hold these regular primetime press conferences, so the others would run normal programming.

The National Television Awards have also been delayed until early 2010.

Rather confusingly ABC1 is actually on two, and three is SBS.

Four, five, six and eight are simply not occupied.

ONE HD, a 24 hour sports channel from TEN, will take up LCN 1 when it launches tomorrow. TEN HD, which previously held this channel number will move to 11.

Why would she not?

Is Celeb Juice live or recorded?

Either way, TM is done in the morning, and i'm sure if celeb juice is recorded it will be done in the afternoon??

BBC will have a good night tonight.

I expect that Waterloo Road will up it's rating having the Apprentice After It.

I expect that the Apprentice will still do well even if it has tougher competition thsi series.

I think

Waterloo Road BBC1 8pm 4.8m
The Apprentice 7.3m

Why do people think WR's ratings are going to increase just because The Apprentice is on after it? You think viewers can't switch on or over to BBC1 at 9 o'clock? I love The Apprentice - I'm loving tonight's, the muppets! - but it doesn't make me any more likely to watch the tripey school drama.
