They've sent Fabia through..... I suggest they definitely need censors for her performance.... a pair of tits on live-terrestial TV, even after primetime will not go down well! Susan Boyle confirmed for closing tomorrow's show. Could see high peak....

During BGT, I noted they promoted something with Stephen Tomkinson from Wild at Heart him doing a documentary in Africa.

It's not wasted. The reason why the 8:30 episode doesn't average as well in the overnights is because it finishes 5 minutes early.

Look at the official ratings, and they're not too far behind the 7:30 episode. Sometimes, it's even ahead!

Also, the 8:30pm episode has prevented the BBC from launching/showing succesful comedies in that slot, which they used to do a few years ago.

How was it nasty? It was a fair enough question I think given I was rather bemused by it.

Average shares or not, they are still complete guesses because your fantasy schedules involve moving shows out of their usual slots- for example; I'm far from convinced Millionaire would do the business on Fridays at 9pm against HIGNFY, certainly not a 24% share anyway.

I take your point, but is Have I Got News For You on in January? BBC1 will probably be airing QI followed by a new comedy next January. And I think Millionaire has a great chance of claiming a 24% share, it was a guess but I'd say a realistic one, especially without competition.

I think that was wise actually because it boosts the first live show straight away now people know Susan is going to be on. It gives the live shows the best possible leg up basically.

As for Fabia, I'm amazed she made it through. One group in particular were all fairly rubbish but I presume they are just there as filler to keep it a bit interesting and maybe give the judges the opportunity to use the buzzers every now and again? Dunno. But yes, I imagine it will be censored seeing as BGT is essentially a family show.

Tonight's show felt rushed really in parts despite the 90 minutes. The yes/no segment in particular seemed to fly by, but we got lots of Simon, Piers and Amanda sat round a table reeling out every cliche in the book about the contestants. All a bit predictable and boring and ought to have been a bit pacier.

Too many musical montages, not enough actual acts. The selection process seemed painfully dragged out as well.

The auditions haven't been great this year, despite the viewing figures being well up.

I agree, this part of the show is rather rushed & not as well thought through, despite being quite a fundamental part.

As in, 200 down to 40 is quite a substantial drop. I think there should be some point system, similar to what they do on Dancing on Ice and Strictly Come Dancing. Though, it could be quite a long process with 200!

There needs to be some alteration for next year, it's the one thing I feel could be done better, nothing else!

Tonights show was good but mainly because we found out who was going through. The auditions seemed to be leftovers to fill the 45 minutes and like others, I wasn't particularly keen on how they did the cut. I could hardly keep track of who was in and who was out.

Overall, the auditions weren't as good as last year, although the first in the series was probably the best ever. Too music/dance focussed. That said, when they've got it right, it has been very good (mainly with Susan Boyle) and that has shown in the ratings.

I think it'll sneak back over 10m tonight.

That wasn't the intention- I was genuinely bemused. Certainly nobody else has "raised concerns" directly to me that I recall. As for past events, I still stand by my comments previously when you posted a whole article in it's entirety and tried to pass it off as your own, I don't particularly care what other posters thought; that is wrong and not what this thread is about. But I thought we'd moved on from that now. As for your last point, fair comment.


I still think a 24% prediction is a bit optimistic myself considering ITV1 is only just about managing 10-12% in that slot at the moment, admittedly due to a string of flops. But nevertheless it's an interesting scheduling idea. I'm just not sure the share predictions particularly enhance it or add to it much.

Also, PJ keeps changing his fantasy schedules very often. Just the other week, he posted:

All true but that 8.30 episode should still be scrapped. 5x Corrie is too much and at least one episode needs to be dropped if we're to see the quality make any sort of recovery.

I think last night's BGT rating should determine what tonight's rating could get. I think they put the auditions yes/no thing all squeezed, because they knew that if they put it as a singular show it wouldn't do too good ratings wise so this was the best possible way of doing it.

How did the final 1 vs 100 fared against BGT?

I know it's Monaco and that does normally give a little boost, but that is damn impressive considering the fact most of the country was basking in sunshine yesterday.

Brilliant rating for Britain's Got Talent. Looking at that peak, it seems that the audition bit may have got mearly 12m on average, with the reveal dipping to about 10.5-11m (something similar happened last year, only a guess though). Could get 12m tonight.

Good again for Primeval, particularly considering the even better than usual weather (and there have been some great Saturdays lately). Awful for Robin Hood though.

Another fantastic rating for BGT and ITV should have a great week. Watching the show back earlier it's interesting that ITV really did make best use of the ad breaks to advertise ITV shows-namely Benidorm, Kingdom & the show with Stephen Tomkinson (which I hadn't heard of till then!) Also great to see ITV advertise 'the big week' under the 'brighter side of life' banner-'all the finals in one week'. Good to see ITV capitalising on BGT's success and trying to boost other shows around it.

Any ratings for Casualty, because that peak after 9pm suggests it was hit quite hard??

I've just been looking at ITV's schedule the week after BGT finishes and it is absymal to say the least!

In the 9pm slot there is:
-Australian import
-2 x drama repeats (Taggart & Doc Martin)
-2 x mediocre factual programmes (Superhuman & Cops With Cameras)

The only new decent shows to start seem to be Kingdom and Nature's Fury. However I can see the reasoning behind moving May Contain Nuts from the Thursday, because clashing with the BB launch would send it sub 3m. It has a decent cast and I believe a Sun/Mon slot would grab it 5/6m. A Wed/Thu/Fri slot will grab it 4m at most.

I haven't seen ITV's new Saturday schedule after BGT finishes, but I guess the week directly after will put Mr & Mrs into BGT's slot and keep Primeval where it is, with a film repeat after Mr & Mrs.
