Anybody know why he hasn't released anything since R U Crazy? I think that was supposed to be the lead single from his second album and it went top 3, but after that he has released nothing in well over a year.

LOL

R U Crazy was diabolical. No wonder there hasn't been a follow up. How does anyone follow up a song like that?

Conor just needs to stop trying too hard and go back to doing decent songs like Turn Around which I actually thought was alright. Well, it's the only song of his I've liked.

It's easy to accuse Conor of being a terrible pop star, just marketed purely to teenage kids, a total flash in the pan etc. but have any of you actually heard his album? It's actually really good.

Some good songs by him aside from the singles:

Better Than You
Glass Girl
Take Off
Pictures
Drowning

Never understood his popularity in the first place or his title as the UK's "Bieber".... he's very ordinary looking and lacks star quality IMO.

I think album 2 is coming this year, I'm hoping R U Crazy will just be forgotten, his first album was actually really good.

Let's face it, nobody wants to be compared to Beiber, do they?

Can't Say No is a catchy song, but ultimately he was a bit of a Bieber wannabe

Yes, Elyah Fox was dropped by RCA but to be honest I still don't understand why Elyah was signed in the first place.

Being able to sing in tune is one thing. Being able to bring something interesting to the table is something else. Elyah just didn't bring anything interesting to the table. Even I would say Conor Maynard is better, that's how little impact Elyah had.

He toured heavily and successfully with both albums and did masses of festivals too. Believe me he has a big live following and can pull it off live I am told by teenagers of my acquaintance. Not my cup of tea but never judge an act til you've seen them live.

He's a disposable male pop star. In order to be a successful young male pop star, you need the right management and following. One Time was a bit of an accidental hit for Justin Bieber, who thereafter glorified the "teen idol" extravaganza that hadn't really caught on since Justin Timberlake left N-SYNC. Problem is, there's only ever room for one. It's not like female wailing divas who are a dime a dozen and have an endless dividing of earth's gay men to further their sales. I liked Conor's debut single, and his album had a couple of catchy jingles on, but pop stars like him do not last. Even Justin Bieiber has become more famous for his lawsuits than his music.

This is it in a nutshell.

People only really know who Justin Beiber is because he's an arse and not for his musical output.

Exactly. How many people, apart from diehard "Beliebers" could actually name any of his songs? I could only name about 3 or 4.

Can someone explain to me why the Reason "R You Crazy" was the reason the new album didn't come out? It was his 2nd best charting position.

Chart position means nothing. Turn Around reached #8 in the UK charts yet it's his biggest selling single to date outselling his other singles that all entered higher in the chart.

I'm not suggesting R U Crazy is the reason for the album being delayed, but it's weird for a pop act to score a top 5 single then abruptly stop releasing new music for over a year.

He's working with Timbaland on his next album apparently.

I did not particularly think that voice was that good whenever I heard him sing.

Conor is definitely not a flop! Everything he has released has gone top 10 and since his first album he's been working on his second, for which the lead single will be released soon. I really like his voice and some people on here need to do some stat-checking before labelling an artist as under-performing.

R U Crazy went top 5, but it didn't hang around the charts long. It's not just about chart positions nowadays. Union J are a classic example; their last single debuted at #2 but dropped to #34 the following week.
