Well exactly. At present she just isn't the only clown in the circus and seemingly there are plenty of bigger clowns to choose from.

If she was a brand new HM no one had ever heard of then she wouldn't be as discussed

Although, we had all kind of guessed that Katie Hopkins the media character was all just an act. I don't get why they paid so much for her to be on the show when she isn't going to be the character people would tune in for. No doubt her newspaper articles will be full of the bilious comments we're used to when she leaves the house. For this show, she has been a huge letdown, waste of money and rather bland.

Hopefully the producers will learn a lesson for future series' and not just get someone in for the character they portray in the media as they aren't going to be like that on the show.

I agree, OP. Even when she remembers the character she's being paid to play and insults someone, it's embarrassingly weak and not very witty at all (but again, that should have been expected).

Oh, everyone else is fair game, just leave Katie alone. She's the only one allowed to be "honest" with her opinions. Whenever some of that "honesty" is turned on her, it's out of order. Got it? Good.

I've found her quite interesting, actually. She's spoken her mind a few times and backed up her opinions on the outside of the house.

If you were expecting Katie to be like her outside persona, making remarks about people (but for 24 hours a day in BB), then you should have been prepared to be disappointed. No one could keep that up all the time.

She seems much more grounded and "normal" than I thought she'd be.

I think that despite her persona, she is a very intelligent woman. She will know that certain things she says outside of the house will not be tolerated in the BB house. She has those opinions for real and admitted that to Nadia. But she is keeping it down for now why she assesses her situation. She will let other housemates self-destruct first and then when she is in the last few standing, she will make the odd clever and barbed comment just to,remind us who she really is. I despise her for her vile beliefs. I don't like listening to what she says and I choose not to listen to her as much as possible, but as I said in another thread, what Paris has taught me this week is that actually I would fight to the death to protect her right to say it.

Katie saved the face to face noms. They were looking decidedly dreary until she did it properly.

She actually isn't that outrageous outside of the house, it's only because of people's fake 'look at me, look at how offended i am' reactions to her comments that make her seem that way.

You see 45 minutes of any one day you cant know what she says why not just say you don't like rather than looking for any excuse to have a dig.

You're right of course, calling for more bombing of Palestine, suggesting a ginger baby is "much harder to love", mocking someone suffering from Ebola ... none of that is outrageously offensive. It's the fault of the people who take issue with it.

I am liking Katie as a housemate even though I didn't think I would. It appears she is favourite to win with the bookies so it seems I am not alone.

The people who take issue with Katie Hopkins are 'professional complainers' who love to pretend to be offended, especially when it's being offended on behalf of someone else.

So on what criteria do you judge somebody to be highly intelligent?
