I suppose we could've rented a billboard or something, but that would cost a fortune, and even then we'd only have had a local audience.

Oh, and I wasn't 'banging on' about anything, I simply mentioned it. 'Banging on' is what Richard Dawkins does.”

Seriously?

It''s like saying sexism or misogyny or racism or homophobia were not possible before social media, and it is of course equally nonsensical.

If you think negative views of women based on what they wear or who they have sex with or what they do as a profession is a new thing, well we might be here quite some time...

Fair enough re the 'banging on' bit though- perhaps I over egged that part a bit, I'll give you that one, but the rest of my point remains.

You've clearly read the conversation with Alexander wrong. There is absolutely no doubt whatsoever that Ken was trying to provoke and offend him, but Alexander handled it like a boss.

He is a horrid man. His comments about Alexander were out of order, he shouldn't of used that language and he knows how much times have changed as he's lived through them and would understand that, that kind of language is not acceptable.

His sexist comments were disgusting as well especially when he suggested to Chloe that she should shut up about Jeremy because it could further her career. I dont see how anyone could defend him and if he is not evicted on Tuesday then the British Public should be ashamed of themselves

No it isn't. It's like saying that expressing an opinion to the public isn't possible without a public forum. Which it isn't.

I'm not talking about misogyny, homophobia or racism....or even sexism in general, I'm talking specifically about something you told me about that I'd never heard of before today.......sorry if I didn't make that obvious enough.

Of course I don't think sexism is a new thing. I remember actual inequality. 'Slut shaming' however, is.

It's a newish term for an age old thing and is largely irrelevant to the point being made.

The points still remain and are still entirely valid but we seem to be going round in circles and getting sidetracked with irrelevancies so perhaps we should leave this one here!

I think you've read that one the wrong way.

Ken realised, after Alexander got into discussion with him, that what he had originally said was offensive and could get him into quite a bit of trouble. So, later in the conversation he tries to switch to 'informing' about racism by demonstrating his knowledge of the origins of racist words in the hope that people will think the whole conversation wasn't quite as offensive as the original statement. It is a classic end to a conversation when the person thinks they screwed up the start and are doing damage limitation.

Let's do that.

I'm sure we probably agree on whatever the original point was anyway.

I've just rewatched it and he brings up Picaninny out of the blue probably because Alexander didn't bite when he said Negro.

Just got to the part where he says Jeremy is a Jewish producer from New York. Jeremy is not Jewish, he's not a producer and he's not from New York. The guy is being as offensive as he can manage to be. No one has used piccaninny since the 1920's. He's clearly an ignorant fool and I hope people who think there are excuses for his dialogue in yesterday's show spend all their money on saving him.

Can he really be so clueless? Almost forgiveable in the young (except when they're proud of it) but in someone his age who should know better it's shameful.

Ken is a lot of things, but above all extremely dense. I found it incredulous that even when Alexander calmly corrected him and told him he should have used the word black, instead of showing a bit of humilty and perhaps saying, I stand corrected - alarmingly he then had the effrontery (and bravery) considering the potential for Alexander to turn him into mince meat - to ask him if he knew that (then proceeded to say another offensive word) was the name for a black child! To which Alexander to his credit STILL remained calm and said (paraphrasing).... "and THAT'll get you a kick up the arse too!" It defied belief!

I really couldn't care less, the point I was making is that it's just my opinion and I'm not entitled to and wouldn't dream of making him bad about himself by giving it to him.

I think you'll find most people wouldn't want you to spread your views as we find it quite sad that you are so proud of being so ignorant, but then again maybe that's just me.

Ken - "All I need to get the oven going is a nice big fat Negro, hey looky here"

What made it worse is that Ken said this is an American southern accent.

Alexander didn't cause a scene, but he DID mind and he made it clear that it was an offensive word to use. That is why he warned Ken not to use that word again when talking to a black person. Then Ken went on to use an even more offensive term, pickaninny, At the reference to pickaninny, Alexander informed Ken that picaninny "would get his ass kicked too"

Ken - "You know Jeremy is a big film producer from New York, Don't f*uck yourself over this.

Ken's advice to Chloe regarding Jeremy was that she should have been nice to the New York Jew producer. That is misogynistic.

Yes, he is.. which would have made him the perfect housemate (IMO)... but that comment to Alexander was OTT.. otherwise, I would be rooting for him right now, because I think it is funny to see him troll them all.

Look how cool Calum and Michelle were with his joke towards them.. Why are the nudie models and actresses -- always the most over-dramatic about sexual jokes?”

Muchelle was offended and appalled at Ken's comment about having 'violent sex' with Calum. It will be shown on tonight's show

As much as I like people saying what they feel and not bowing down to the PC brigade, and even winding fake PC people up, there is something not quite right with Ken.

I'm not sure if it's his age or what, but from the moment he stepped into the house there was something not right.

The thing with Alexander was just bizarre, I doubt Ken even knows what day it is.

It's clear the psychological testing was bypassed in this series seeing as both Ken and Jeremy were allowed on.

No, it hasn't, go and study it. You're referring to something that happened around 1750-1800. Why you're quibbling is a mystery.
