A lot of you forum users are fine to criticise housemates but disagree with Katie...

and her views? It's the same thing whatever you say or do. Yes I know everyone is allowed an opinion but if you disagree with the way someone voices their opinion but it's fine for you to do it, that's called being a hypocrite.

Interesting to see if anyone wishes to disagree with me.

If I had known what you were on about, I may have agreed/disagreed.

How are people on here being hypocrites?
We'd only be hypocrites if we put ourselves forward for a competition for which the sole purpose is to be judged by other people.

That's the entire point of BB. To go on there and be judged.
Contestants go on BB because they want to be judged in a competition which is entirely based on being judged.
If people didn't judge the contestants then how on earth could BB possibly exist in reality?

I'm not 100% clear on what you're saying OP. Are you suggesting that if you don't like Katie being a troll on the Internet then you are not allowed to say that as it would be hypocritical to say so? Or are you saying that if you don't like Katie being a troll on the internet you are not allowed to disagree with anybody ever as that would mean you were being hypocritical. Or are you saying both?

I for my part am happy with Katie being a troll on the internet but I feel I have every right to criticise her troll remarks like the fat don't work without me being a hypocrite for doing so. Criticising her troll remarks does not make the critic a hypocrite in my view.

I think voicing an opinion is healthy but I also think that Katie considers that she must say something to cause controversy and get publicity rather than say what is on her mind - It is her job after all

Not hypocrisy at all. I dislike Katie because she's a nasty, spiteful and hateful woman. Being those things and simply stating an opinion are very different.

Speaking for myself of course, there are obviously people who lower themselves to her level, but that doesn't go for us all. There's nothing wrong with simply stating a negative opinion on her (especially when her fans are so quick to excuse her, usually much worse, comments as "just honest").

Katie has become largely irrelevant (so far) which I am loving. Not sure what this thread is about, but Katie's name was mentioned so..

^ Being the operative and relevant phrase here. The objection to what Hopkins says is in the main to do with the infantile and gloating manner in which she says it, and the spiteful, callous lack of care for people's feeling behind it.

I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say, but as far as I'm concerned, I have no problem with Katie voicing her opinion & I have no problem with people criticising her if they don't agree with what she says or about the way she voices them.

She's on Big Brother, which is an arena where people put themselves forward to be judged & critiqued, so it's not beyond the realms of possibility that some people will criticise her.

I can't see any hypocrisy, but like I have said, I'm not quite sure what you're driving at.
