So all, what do you think we'll see in S9? I'll give you some of mine, some of which are things I want to see and others are just things I think we will, like it or not.

Definite

Capaldi/Coleman for the whole season.

Missy returns at some point.

Likely:

Coleman to leave at the end of the series.

Moffat likewise.

Capaldi staying on at the end.

We'll find out who was behind Gus.

There will be a Dalek story.

Kate Stewart and the Paternoster Gang will appear.

We'll see resolution or at least more development to the ''Finding Gallifrey'' arc.

There will be at least some kind of acknowledgement of the 10th anniversary of the revival.

Possible
We'll find out what happened to this universe's version of Madam Kovarian.

River Song will return.

Jack Harkness will return.

Unlikely

Tasha Lem will return.

Rassilon will return.

John Simm will return for a flashback/mini-episode and we will see him regenerate into Michelle Gomez.

I would say your possibles are unlikely to happen.

My hopes for series 9 -

1. Shona to join The Doctor and Clara on their travels

2. For the series to feature more episodes set on another planet or somewhere else in space than episodes set on earth (unlikely I know)

3. No returns from other characters such as the paternoster gang or villains, except for Missy, its a big universe lets go out into it and not run in to the same people all the time as it makes it feel like they only go traveling in our backyard

4. Two part story with Missy in the middle of the series

I remember people reacting quite oppositely before Series 8. People wanted more "earth invasion" type episodes and less space madness etc.

I'd put the Kovarian thing in the Unlikely pile. Like the Silence, that storyline is done and there's no need to revisit it I think.

I also think/hope an additional companion, even if it's in the second half of the series is travelling with Twelve and Clara.

I can see where you're coming from, but I would like to see what happened to her.

Here's my hope of another Doctor Who crossover for a xmas special this year was Earth's Mightiest Heroes (aka The Avengers). I'm sure that Russell T Davis will wrote the special crossover episode and Peter Jackson will direct the crossover as well. Hopefully we will have the new Doctor Who logo to be introduced and the comic book themed title sequence and the one-off theme tune (with Middle 8 verse).

Cancellation, Moffat to stand at roafs with a sign saying " will write episodes of Hollyoaks for food" as he's forever remembered as the man who proved Micheal Grade right.

Clara to get killed before the opening credits of episode one. Moffat's greatest twist

Yes. And a new companion is introduced as soon as the opening credits are over.

Only for her to return in next episode.

Moffat to do Series 9 and the following special, bringing his era to a close on a tidy 70 episodes.

To offer us an Avengers-inspired finale, involving the Weeping Angels up against the universe's greatest time travellers.

Sadly, I fear more disappointment like S8 has been for me. I can't say I'm eagerly awaiting the next series. Still, just my opinion, and I am sure many others have a different view.

I will just do hopes...

Clara to stick around; Capaldi to stop being quite such a misery; some old but new style stories featuring sinister forces at work on an alien planet; the taking out of an injunction against Frank Cottrell Boyce, and whoever was responsible for that moon/egg thing, which prevents either of them from coming within 250 miles of a Dr Who storyline; and the cranking of the fun/angst plot levers a little more in the direction of fun.

Since we know that a ghost story is coming (http://www.doctorwhotv.co.uk/details...es-8-67791.htm), I'm expecting Danny Pink's story to be continued somehow. Clara will at the very least think about him; she might even get to communicate with him again.

I'm also expecting the Orson Pink plot point to be explained, and I'm hoping that we see River Song again (as I thought it was implied in Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead that she'd met a few incarnations of the Doctor).

As in, Marvel's Finest? Or Steed and Mrs. Peel?

Sounds good to me. Hope for more positivity and fun. Doctor is suppose to enjoy his adventures after all. During LC there were two really happy moments for him. First he rode Santa's sleigh. Second he got his second chance when he found Clara still young. Takes years off him being in a good mood.

Ditto!

I'd just add two things: the return of Osgood and Danny Pink.

Osgood's just too likeable character for her to end that way.
Danny so that, when Jenna's ready to leave, Clara can have a happy ending.

What about a Grand Theft Auto IV-inspired finale of Doctor Who Series 9

I'd like it for Osgood to turn out to be okay - although I completely understand why they did it, she was just too nice to get an ending like that!

I think bringing Danny back would be a mistake though. I don't feel like it would be a happy ending, the best thing for Clara would be to adapt and live with the things she can't change - I think that's an important thing for any time-travelling character to adjust to, even moreso that us regular people. I think to bring Danny back to life like nothing ever happened would completely undermine everything Clara has gone through.

Bringing back Danny, I don't think they will do it. I think Last Christmas probably was the last we've seen of him.

No more boring forced love interests (Danny was horrendous) and hopefully more Doctor and less Clara, but I won't hold my breath......

Its all suppose to be building to a big cliff hanger in 9.11 the penultimate episode. Moffat has been quoted as saying he has planned it and fans wouldn't see it coming. Hope it is good. Maybe something will be revealed about the Doctor or Clara's past. Might even get another surprise return.

Hey you can tell Russell T Davies to wrote the Doctor Who crossover with Earth's Mightiest Heroes for a Christmas Special.

Runtime: say about 75 minutes.
