BIG Brother bosses are lining up the wackiest contestants EVER for this summer's sixth series

A shortlist of 50 includes a contortionist, a female porn star, a convicted car thief and two frisky pensioners

There are also two accountants - vying for the title of Britain's most boring man - a gymslip mum and an ex tramp.

A source on the Channel 4 reality show said: "We've got a right bunch of nutters, basically.

"They're a really varied group - from the very vocal to down-and-outs. The OAPs are hilarious and the female contortionist will bring a smile to the boys' faces.

"And the accountants could be the most infuriating stars ever - they really are dull people.

"Viewers can expect fireworks as these people won't get on at all."

Producers reckon the new stars will be more popular than previous housemates such as gobby Jade Goody and nasty Nick Bateman

Bri, 26, will spill the beans about the show's soccer stars. The former SM:TV frontman said: "I'm so excited. Footballers' Wives is my absolute favourite show, I'm a massive fan."

Why are they giving quite detailed information about possible contestants to the press? It'll only make it easier for these people to get rumbled which Big Brother warns them about too.

I wonder if this is true as I thought they wouldn't let anyone with a criminal record on the show?????

I'm just joking. I have a feeling they know that having extreme clashes of personalities like in BB5 is the type of show which will guarantee them a hi-energy event which people will tune into, it's as if they don't want to risk getting characters who gradually develop for fear it will not go as they wish and they have another horribly dull BB4 on their hands instead of a lovely BB2.

I bet they do put a few older folks in there too after their CBB3 experiment with people over 50.

I didn't think BB 4 was so bad.

On the other hand, i ran across a tape I'd made during BB3 and tried watching it the other day. Ohmygod was it dull, even though I'd thought BB3 was interesting at the time.

Oh well that was that then. The contortionist won.

And in response to the "freaks" thing, well, BB3 and BB4 were probably the only two shows that weren't filled with weirdos. BB2 was in some ways, and the original was full of bizarre contestants.

Don't listen to the tabloids anyway. They never get it right....

The tabloids always describe them more outrageous than they are. Once the hype died down, most the BB5 bunch were relatively normal.

As for the OAP issue. Yes - Germaine, John and Jackie did enough to warrant their place on Celebrity Big Brother, but they also inhibited the format in some ways, restricting what tasks etc BB could do.

On the other hand, Kenzie did alot for the younger generation - maybe we'll get at least one 18-21 yr old (god, just realised that's younger than me!) in as well.

It depends how they do it. I think around 21-45 is the best age range. We don't want a similar situation to BBUSA where you get 11 people in their 20's and 30's then one in their late 50's!

They did get them right last year - in a way - but that's the only time they've ever managed it before. In BB4 they released pictures of the trial housemates (who I now wish were the real ones) and in BB3 they were really off the mark (apart from Jade, but she just couldn't keep her mouth shut.)

Plus - boring accountants? Do you really think Channel 4 are going to put in 'dull people' after BB4?

When it comes down to it, we will watch them avidly for 10-11 weeks, even if they bore us/ annoy/ us/ dislike them from the word go/ change our minds about them constantly/ get irritated about the way they chew their food/ drink their drinks/ become irate because our favourite has been evicted.
Because we are all irrational at times. 'Sometimes we're all like that'.
