Comic relief is on later this year, so we must be due a shoddy cover version. I was trying to think of any current UK pop acts who hadnt already done a comic relief song, and came up with nothing. Any ideas who could be up for doing this?
Anyone i can think of (Adele, Ed Sheeran people of that ilk) seem to be a tad too serious

The Vamps would be my prediction and it will more than likely be a cover version.

Haven't heard a thing myself. The song should have been released by now

My mum was asking me too. Seems strange that one hasn't been released this time around.

I took pleasure at watching The Saturdays' cover of "I just can't get enough" last night which was done for Comic Relief a couple of years ago

I have a gut feeling something is going to premier on the night of Comic Relief that gets released to iTunes either on Friday night, or at midnight going into Saturday.

Maybe Peter Kay is doing something as a potential surprise. I know there's a Phoenix Nights sketch so who knows.

Is This The Way To Amarillo sold bucketloads in 2005
(I'm Gonna Be) 500 Miles sold really well in 2007
The Official BBC Children In Need Medley also sold well in 2009 (ok, it wasn't for Comic Relief but still)

To make it nice and tacky they should have all the BRIT award winners do a charity song; or, even tackier, all the losers

Sam Smith is doing the Comic Relief single. Hasn't been announced yet but Broadcast Now all but confirmed it a few weeks ago (said it was a young new singer with the initials SS who had money on his mind). He's also the only musical performer on the telethon.

I wonder if that means Lay Me Down is the single then. I hope not, I'd like something new from Sam

Oh god I hope it's a little more cheerful than his usual depressing stuff. Maybe like when The Young Ones did the Cliff Richard song Living Doll and Cliff appeared on it.

At least Living Doll was a chirpy song to begin with. I don't really see how any famous comedians can make a Sam Smith ballad bearable, and if it's a "funny" version of Money On My Mind then I'm out already. It's by far the worst single he's released. His vocals grate on me something horrid especially on MOMM.

Then again when Spice Girls released Mama/Who Do You Think You Are? as the Comic Relief single in 1997 both tracks were already available on their album Spice. They just made radio edits for the single. Then again, Spice Girls could've released three minutes of burping and it would've gone to #1 because that was how much impact they had at the time.

A bit like One Direction doing Teenage Kicks in 2013.

I miss the early days when there were original tracks released - Right Said Fred's Stick It Out and Hale and Pace's The Stonk etc...
