When does the extended run of Big Brother start? Is it May?

Well it has been for the last four years...

Well if you notice I said EXTENDED run because it is on for an extra month this time around, so you being smart and saying that doesn't help, because it might be starting earlier/later because it is running for longer.

Personally I'd rather they cancelled it instead of cluttering up the schedules for weeks on end!

Well personally I'd rather they didn't.

Perhap if you posted in the BB forum you'd get a better answer?

I think it would probably be starting on May 27th. Its usually around this time and if the show is extended, I think they would be wise to have the extra month after the usual finale rather than before the usual start date because of school holidays etc.. Either way, its definately going to be in March sometime, can't wait!

I like BB when it starts but eventually it starts to run out of steam... like the tasks get lamer and theres fewer confrontations. I hope that this extra month doesn't kill it off, but we'll have to see.
I hope they have alot of different ideas and plans for this year, one i'd personally like to see is a switch with a housemate from the US, i know the US episodes would finish in september so i'd imagine it might be hard to do.

The only reason that happens is because people keep voting out the annoying ones (and thus the exciting ones) too early on.

That's true. I'm waiting for when the perfect group finally enters, it seems like all this effort goes into the application process only to have less than half of the group are interesting characters and the rest you couldn't really care about BUT have their moments...

Oh and when does it start? isn't it usually the final week in May?... if it is its only 2 months away

According to one site it's:-

BB6
Friday 27th May 2005

But not sure how true that is.

It will start in the last week on May (Fri 27 May is the predicted date) and will last an extra month.

My theory is this:

The people who vote on big Brother fall into one of two groups:

Group A vote to punish annoying housemates. They vote as if they were in the house by evicting people they find disagreeable; those they wouldn't like to live with.

Group B vote to keep the troublemakers in the house with the intention of making the show more entertaining. These people prefer to see confrontation and aggression on the show.

Judging by the voting through the years I would say that Group A outnumber Group B. BB4 was the prime example.

Yes good observation, I totally agree.
It's so annoying when people vote like Group A. They are not in the house, so does it really matter if HM x is annoying?

I wonder if it will take another 5 BB's before people realise they need to keep the annoying (exciting) ones in?

I should state right now that I'm a member of Group B

What you say makes sense, BB5 would have been more interesting if Kitten had stayed longer but I simply couldn't stand to watch her. Victor was little better. On the rare occasions I vote it's because someone has pissed me off enough to make me pick up the phone.

Also, it makes a difference that most votes are for who you want out rather than in.

Why isn't this in the Big Brother where it is away from all the BB haters and where it should be?

Erm - since when was I being smart? I'm simply providing an answer, which given you asked a question I thought was the right thing to do...

It has started in May since Big Brother 2 in 2001, so in all probability it will be the same this year.

Chris E, I have to agree with you! I didn't see anything sarky in your reply. Never underestimate the touchiness of a BB fan.

I can't believe we're discussing this bl00dy programme again already...

Big Brother normaly does start the end of may it will be great to see it back on tv again is there really going to be a extra month? that will be cool if there is that would mean the final few would of been in that house for 14 weeks thats enough to drive anyone mad lets just hope then the new lot of house mates will be as good as the ones in Big Brother 5 but i think they will be hard to beat.

I am worried this could be my final year this year too, I couldn't get that excited last year, only on eviction nights and the finale was so predictable well, lets just say it took the gloss of the whole show.

I barely watched the last series of IAC and saw even less of Celeb Fame Academy.

Maybe I'm growing up..... just what will I do with my life now?..... lol

I may be abroad during the next series, thats my reason! I am not disillusioned with it especially after last summer's hilarious and brilliant return to form.

Even during the boredom showcase that was BB4 I kept watching when I could!
