What is wrong with this series?
I love CBB - I find it much more enjoyable than the regular Big Brother. It's something about the mixture of celebrities (even if you don't know who some of them are!) from home and abroad and how they all get on together - or don't. Like I'm a Celebrity it's fun watching people you would never put together forge friendships.
I really enjoyed the last series with Gary Busey etc. but this series is making me feeling uncomfortable and I can't quite put my finger on it. Yes, we love drink fuelled arguments and drama. But this series is all about women shrieking at each other the whole time. Nobody seems to actually LIKE each other. As soon as one person has said something to another, that person scurries off to tell everyone else 'Do you know what so and so has just said to me?' There is just something so unpleasant about it this time round. The mean girls remind me of a pack of lions desperately trying to bring a young gazelle down. Perez's behaviour is just bizarre (and I believe if he had been less 'out there' he would have been as popular as he thinks he is - but has ruined his chances of winning) I keep watching, hoping for some kind of change from the unpleasantness but it hasn't happened yet. Maybe Katie Price will shake it up a bit. Or when we get rid of some more contestants. What do you guys think? |

No real Celebs; No Tasks; Too much PC nonsense; Too many young ego-ridden bad-tempered women; No food deprivations [eg no bananas or blueberries]; No 48hr challenges with sleep deprivation; NO shock suits; and mostly the VILE Perez being the focus of every episode. Ditch Perez and interfering-PC-fake Nadia and we'd have a really INTERESTING assortment of personalities interacting excitingly.

I completely disagree with most of what white tigress said.
I am loving this series. CBB4 was also very uncomfortable to watch but its become known as the best CBB so far. The celebs are far more relevant to the term celebrity than a lot of past so called celebs like the ex girlfriend of a rolling stone member or a failed x factor contestant. Celebs never get very difficult or physical demanding tasks, not now and not on ch4 either. As I said in another thread we have had the drama and fighting, now we need the fun..maybe injecting KPs philosophy of lifes too short for fighting and grudges we will now see the fun side of BB. All the best series have huge egos, drama fights but its balanced with lots of fun..I am hoping this series will go that way. |

I WANT to like it but am not so far. I thought it was a good mix of celebs (there will also be some
people in every series) with strong characters who will provide strong drama. But there is no camaraderie, no quirky friendships. It's just nasty all the time. I realise the show is highly edited and maybe the fault is with the editors. There may be some gems going unshown. I don't think just ditching Nadia and Perez as suggested above will change anything. Although I would to see who the mean girls would bitch about then! |

It's all just high drama all the time. It's so draining to watch. We aren't seeing calmer moments, funny moments etc. There's nothing gentle being shown to punctuate the anger. |

All the madness would be ok if there were people with wit. Even a good DR commentator would help. There's no humour, no balance.

I think it just feels so contrived and the opposite of reality television. In that there doesn't seem to be much in the way of reality to it.
Watching the live feed the other night was quite an eye-opener. It actually felt all right. But the HL show is focusing on all the pretend bullshit which has been mainly contrived by the housemates themselves. It just feels really off and far too false. As though most of the housemates are consciously playing out their own pantomime fully aware that they are for the most part playing characters. |

It's almost like the chemistry is wrong. Like I say, if we lose some of the louder people there may be some entertainment hiding in there. |

What is wrong is that it is all bitching/drama and no shared fun (only laughing at ridiculous antics like Perez getting it on with outside furniture). Shared fun requires good relationships, i.e. some harmony/goodwill...that's what's missing.

What do you guys think? using reality show people also ensures HMs who will act out for drama and compete for camera time. |

It's just a bad cast this time, there is basically no choice for the viewer at all. Choosing to support Team Perez or Team Katie is like choosing between team douche or team turd as South Park would say
Outsiders vs Insiders, Jim vs Linda and Helen vs Ashleigh were great feuds and made their series great because there were clear opposites between the two sides so it was easy to back one and dislike the other. In this series, they are all unlikeable and it becomes boring when you don't give a toss who comes out on top |

Its been said over and over that BB now need to inject fun in the house and try to help towards housemates rebuilding bridges. |

Don't know what it is about the January CBB series but they're pretty much always absolute crackers. |

I wouldnt say the Helen/Ashleigh feud was any different, both were horrible and the series was awful..the worst apart from BB8.
Its a good cast and viewing figures are up so whatever they are doing is working. Its been said over and over that BB now need to inject fun in the house and try to help towards housemates rebuilding bridges. The viewing figures are steady because of the tabloid hysteria over 'assaults' and 'racism' and all that bollox, it's got nothing to do with the celebs that are still in the house |

Yes Helen and Ashleigh were both horrible but they had good personnel, and stark contrasts on their teams to back them up, in this series the leaders of the teams are horrible and all the people on BOTH teams are horrible. Last summer's series was about a billion times better than the 2013 summer series which was the worst one C5 have made by a long distance
The viewing figures are steady because of the tabloid hysteria over 'assaults' and 'racism' and all that bollox, it's got nothing to do with the celebs that are still in the house They had all that nonsense in the star during BB15 and it did not help the dire falling figures. Like it or not Perez and the 2 Katies are pulling in viewers,I also recall all sorts of stories in the star during past CBBs and it did not help viewing figures..besides the housemates are creating the drama for those OTT headlines..its an excellent line up this year..better than most of the dross we got in the latter years of CH4. |

Ratings are hardly any higher than they have always been (January 2014 CBB actually had higher ratings than this one) and the newspaper headlines are only about the HMs that have been removed, not the pitiful shower that are still in there |
