I'm trying to find the name of a tune and this has been bugging me for years! However, in the last week I actually heard it again on the radio but the DJ did not back-announce it so I am still none the wiser as to what it is.

Basically it sounds like a disco track from the late '70s/early '80s although in my mind until last week I had always thought it was more of a late '80s house tune so maybe there are different versions floating about.

The main identifying feature of the track is a repeating synth riff which goes (in eighth notes): C1, C1, G0, G0, E1, E1, C1, REST (then repeat). It sounds a bit like the synth line from Man2Man Meets Man Parrish - Male Stripper, but it isn't this.

There are some female vocals on it and also a vocoder-effected voice which says/sings the words "my mother told me", or something like that.

Can't really remember anything else about it. Anyone know what it is?

I love this song too! But it can't be that since it doesn't match the note pattern in the first post, and also OP says he's known the song for "years", whilst I think that song only came out last year.
