Wow. I guess you're voting for him to win, then. If he's so powerful that he can target someone and get them removed from the house. He must be playing a heck of a game.

Yes I agree, horrible word. Quite clearly homophobic. Very disappointed in Alexander

It's not the word 'ass' or the word 'silly ' or even the term 'silly ass' which is offensive in what Alex said.

Most people don't vote for a HM because they've played a malicious, manipulative game.

Totally agree, it messes with the whole social experiment concept-to see how people from different backgrounds adapt to each other NOT how they bow to public demands and put on acts for them

As for Alex, the word is unacceptable and I would have liked to see him apologise to Perez and public for using it or the warning is futile. But i do think a warning was enough, I vote for two strikes and you're out-that is, once=warning, twice=out
But Alex wasn't very mature later, taunting Perez back.

I used to teach, and have watched BB since it began-I've never seen a house that more resembles a playground! Sad thing is, the kids learn whilst this lot don't seem to!

Post no 4 pointed out the error in the thread title and clarified the phrase silly ass - seconded by me in post 38. I can only think that some people haven't read the thread before posting. The thread starter should have corrected the misquote in the thread title. It was misleading, as post no 4 pointed out.

If a person says other "hate speech" words such as the n word, they get kicked out immediately. I don't think anyone should be kicked out just for saying a word, but that's the screwed-up world we live in today. They should at least apply consistency with the rules.

I think some people here also may need to refresh their knowledge of how slavery trade started and WHO did the selling of the people. Terry back a few seasons ago had to set Coolio straight as even Coolio didnt even have a CLUE how and why slavery even existed.

when tribes fought, they used to enslave or KILL all the losers. Instead of death, these conquored people were given a chance at life in another land. Yes, they were sold as livestock, by their own african conquerors in most cases.

it must ahve been horrible. you already lost your home, possibly half your family was already killed in battle, now you are shipped off to who knows where . It must have been terrible psychologically, lots of broken submissive people.

anyways, I digress.

oh ....edited. For fks sake Faggot is a UK term.... thats been bastardized into a homosexual slur. originally a small branch/ piece of wood, later into cigarrettte.

i could go into details but asking for a fag did mean putting a SMoke in your Mouth.

later that changed to something ELSE being put in mouths. That is how meanings of words change.”

I was talking about THE N word, not that one, so calm down for heavens sake and get your own facts right.

Hi, I just read back to refresh my memory. In your post #38 you say "So he would have been saying silly-ass faggot." (as opposed to "ass faggot" from the thread title).

But the offensive word is 'faggot'. So even if you take the words 'silly-ass' out of the sentence, it still leaves an unacceptable word.

That's why I'm perplexed at your comment as it seems to me most posters are commenting on 'the F word'.

I know. I'm fairly sure everyone knows it too.

Don't know why you are perplexed that someone should point out that he misquoted what someone said, misinterpreted and misrepresented it and invented a phrase into the bargain.

Fairly easy to lose your rag being in a confined space with other people for a lengthy amount of time, still no need for Alexander to use that word though.

But he didnt call him a silly ass faggot. He actually said ‘You’re going to sit there with that silly a** f***ot look on your face!'
So he was calling his look a silly ass faggot not Perez.

Of course he should not have used that word, and had Perez not deliberately provoked him to loose his temper I doubt he would have said it, some will say it is no excuse, and I can't disagree, but Perez deserves every bit of anger that is directed at him. He is deliberately trying to make their lives a misery and effectively controlling the mood and level of tension, and he should be sanctioned as well.

I would forgive Alexander's loss of control in the face of extreme provocation, especially being woken up and coughed over.

Because it makes no difference.

I completely agree. I would say, far from being upset or fearing for his safety, Perez is positively getting off on the fact he's got the reaction he was so desperate for and he can now play the victim.

In a perfect world, they wouldn't rise to his blatant baiting but it must be very difficult when there is no hiding place

You appeared to wish to argue a point that has already been explained several times that no one has argued against, namely that an offensive word had been used.

It is self evident that it matters whether one quotes what someone actually said or attributes to him a misquotation of what he said, the misquotation being then taken up and repeated by others in the belief that it is what he did say. In this thread alone, I have seen four or five people wrongly attributing to him a phrase from the misleading thread title. At least four different posters here have pointed out the problem with it, in posts 4, 38, 71, 122, 124, 125, 130, 132, 136. Sorry if I've inadvertently missed any out.

Well yes it does matter that people are quoted correctly but in this case it makes no difference whether he said 'ass faggot' or ' silly-ass faggot'. Because he shouldn't have said 'faggot'.

Just like it would make no difference whether someone said 'silly-ass n****r' or 'ass n****r'.

Of course it matters to quote what someone actually said, rather than misrepresenting what they said and alleging they used some phrase that they didn't.
Statement A (...it makes no difference whether he said 'ass faggot' or 'silly-ass faggot'.) does not follow from Statement B (Because he shouldn't have said 'faggot'.)
If you cannot see the difference between accusing him of what he did say - which was put to him and which he acknowledged, accepted it was wrong and apologised - and alleging that he said something he didn't say, I can't help you. You could try telling Alexander O'Neal that he said what the thread title alleged he said to see how he reacts. Obviously he would not recognise, accept or apologise for something he did not say. He would be I expect be baffled by such a made-up expression and would repudiate any such accusation or use of such a phrase.
