It's not my favourite Madonna song, although it is a bloody great one, but I have to say that the string section intro to Papa Don't Preach is nothing short of genuine genius.

For the sublime 'taking its time' factor, and making me positively purr with pleasurable anticipation for knowing what's coming, I will never lose love for Grace Jones's version of La Vie En Rose.

the sweet?... not sure why they have got this prefix. we never called then 'the', it was 'sweet' and 'slade' and 't rex' and 'wizzard' ... 'the' seems to have been a prefix to 60's acts with very few early 70's acts using 'the' . (until punk).
