He's back on form these days since he quit the drugs. Back in his drug taking days, he was hit and miss. You didn't know which Alex would turn up. Some gigs he'd be clean and still be on point, others he'd be off his face and be a shambles.
Friends saw him in the summer at the Brentwood Festival and said he;s definitely back in the game
Saw him in June at the Jazz cafe in London, he was superb 
so much so he was playing locally in November so went to see him again. Bit of a diva that time, came on stage late, refused to do an encore and wouldn't blow the candles out on his birthday cake 
(glad he's dropped the bed on stage - that was too cringey 
)

I was always a bit concerned for Alexander, as within about an 6 month period, I saw him, Michael Jackson, Luther Vandross and Whitney Houston in concert!
Can confirm Alexander sweats buckets! He had a camel coloured suit on at the beginning, it was dark brown by the end ... but jeez, he can SING!

Another oldie here!....saw him in the 80's also and he was good...........not a patch on the late, great Luther, but good..and then saw him again around maybe 10yrs ago at a local 'Proms in the Park' along with Rose Royce, Shalimar and a few others from that era............and he was terrible.....glad to hear he is doing better now, didn't realise he has drug problems.

Sooo jealous of all the people that got to see Luther Vandross in concert.
How I wish I'd done that!
