Never as others have said been a show for children, TBH I have seen worse BBs than this for shocking behaviour though.

I started watching Big Brother in series 7 when I was just 9 as my older brothers used to always watch it lol. I obviously didn't understand a lot of the stuff but it did open my eyes up to all different kinds of people and life.

Its pathetic.

I'm off”

I don't know what there is to discuss? Would you like it to be more censored? Less outrageous celebrities included? No swearing allowed? So that your under 11s can watch?

Maybe you would like a BB for minors?

No it is not sad ....it would be sad if it was boring enough for an 11 year old to watch ...
there is enough pandering to kids get them to bed at a reasonable time ready to behave in school and leave the grown up programmes alone ....

It's a bit of a silly topic really. It's just like making a topic saying "I've stopped my pre-teen kids watching babestation. I know it's rated 18, but it seemed fine until they started getting naked. At that point I realised that this was not meant for Children and so they were banned from watching it!"

It is totally unsuitable for children what with the constant swearing etc

As they should be, nice to see there are some sensible parents still about.

i guess reading comprehension is over rated? a few certainly must think so.

The OP said he/she 'proofed' the shows BEFORE letting the kids watch , its not that hard to grasp is it?

i was the youngest of 4 boys and i was definitely under 10 yrs old when my brothers watched nightmare on elm street , of course i was also had access to adult material much younger than i should have but have 3 older brothers who were still classed as teenagers in the house that's was always going to be the case despite what people believe.

i hate it when people decide to judge the parenting of others without contextual process' to decide either way , i guess snap judgments are the norm in the cyber world but when you are discussing such a subject as parenting that will always be such a personal thing a little thought or at least understanding wouldn't go amiss

I'm sorry, but what do you expect? My parents let me watch this.. bear in mind that I was 8 in 2000! Well, I started watching in BB2 when I was 9. People may think "That's made, that's so young". I was always addicted... I was a strange one, I watched horror films from the age of 6!

But you say "Used to not be an adult show", which is wrong. It always has been adult and was on late for a reason, there has always been strong language and even in its first series we had people running around naked pouring oil on each other and body painting etc...

Totally agree. I think people just want to hear what they want to hear. Its like a GCSE English Exam where some kids write what they want to (irrelevant of the question) and others answer the question properly

This is a show on at 10pm, that had a reputation for being controversial and containing swearing and explicit language and even has a warning on before hand to advise viewers of the strong language, and people complain that it's not suitable for kids? ?? Dear lord....

Seeing some threads/posts on here this year made me realise that 'comprehension' is sadly lacking.

The point the OP was making was surely that BB has changed so much that even a vetted episode cannot be watched by under 11s. Most of the posts having a go at this are obviously suggesting that there never really have been suitable episodes of Bb for under 11s even when vetted. It seems to me the OP almost demanded we judge his parenting skills as he was asking us to agree that BB was at some time suitable for under 11s.

I don't really see what your example has to do with what the OP is saying to be honest. Unless you mean your parents let you watch Nightmare on Elm St or they complained that it wasn't suitable for you after letting you watch it

What a load of shite, this is very tame compared to the earlier days of BB.
BB3-BB6 especially, I mean did you watch BB6 with Kinga shoving a bottle up her minge, constant talk of sex, showing everyone shower naked daily & everyone stripping, Makosi in hot tub & Maxwell/Saska. The language was terrible also... Then theres BB3 & BB5.. Also CBB13 less tame, It's never been PG ever.

In all fairness, I've watched Big Brother since I was about 10, often however the morning repeat.

Anyway, why not let them watch the next day's repeat?

Id be more alarmed that you're watching a 9pm show then letting your kids watch that night, so they start watching at at least 10pm.

I don't why the op is whining about the dark content, it's not meant for kids in the 1st place.
