If the only women you had met was ellen DeGeneres would you think I was funny.
If the only women you had met was the Virgin Mary would you think I was a virgin.

Your theory is not working for me.

Sounds similar to Perez, "if I were you Id fear for my safety when I leave this house" comment.

Kind of yes.

I think what he was trying to say was that if he acted on a TV show in the states like he had he knew what would happen - that's the way I took it anyway.

No. He was responding to taunts by a raving lunatic, and rightfully so. One comment does NOT put someone under a label. if he consistently had a problem with Perez, and Kavana, then you could call him a homophobe. Stop over reacting and educate yourself.

This is completely wrong.
Using a racist word does not make you a racist, unfortunately most people have been brainwashed into believing it does.

Very true indeed.

It's quite telling that Alexander and Kav spend a huge amount of time together hardly the actions of a homophobic man.

I didn't get the impression that Alexander was a homophobe. Obviously he didn't like Perez but he seemed to get on well with Kavana. This doesn't suggest that he is anti gay.
Maybe he shouldn't have used the f word but it seemed to me that he just lashed out in frustration more than it being some sort of homophobic attack.

Yeah, we've been having this debate in another thread.

As I said in that topic, it's not right for people to single out sexuality to attack someone over. By all means criticise Perez for his actions (I think he's a stupid idiot too) but the criticisms should be kept to his actions alone.

Non less threatening than the other.

If only Ken had "feared for his safety" Perez could of been ousted with him.

'One comment does NOT put someone under a label'

So how many comments does it take then?

I'm looking for a specific number.

Don't reply with anything else, just give me the number.

Thanks.

I take your point completely. However I am torn - I do not know if Alexander is homophobic or not, his language WAS. You could say if he was not homophobic then why start a sentence with that choice of word. Angry teased whatever there are other words. You can label me one of the PC brigade if you like but I know with certainty I would never say the word. You have to accept at some level if he chooses to say the word in a derogatory manner this is a slur on (Perez's) sexuality and this as to be in some part how he thinks.

It was suggested that if they were in the US Alexander would deal with Perez very differently. He then kept asking if he understood what he meant, throwing in 'dawg' now and again. All very subtle but clear enough. Also consider they are both Americans and are both going back after the show.

It's not about numbers it's about context. It's about a pattern of behaviour and actions. Do you own a label for every bad word and action you've committed in your life?

It really is such a difficult thing to judge, especially when it seemed (to me anyway) that Perez was purposely taunting Alex over the last few hours leading up to it.

But Perez's biggest problem is that he uses the word fagot, doesn't find it offensive and has openly called celebrities it on video.

If Alexander (and I do mean if) he was aware of Perez's love for the word then throwing it back at him makes perfect sense.

But I do not, for a second, believe Alexander is a homophobic man and he's friendship with Kav and Michelle would certainly back that up.
