Nobody has been violent towards Perez. That nonsense needs to stop. Perez wants you to believe that because it suits his victim agenda.
Perez persistently goaded Alexander until he got the reaction he was looking for. He harassed the man when he was trying to sleep and continued that harassment throughout the day in different ways. Yes, it was wrong what Alexander said but we all make mistakes and it was under severe provocation. We can all say things we regret in the heat of the moment. There is a reason why the majority of the house detest Perez. He is a repulsive and vile specimen who does not know how to conduct himself around others. He takes great pleasure in winding people up to the point when they react and then he can play the victim and pretend he fears for his safety. |

So how many comments does it take then? I'm looking for a specific number. Don't reply with anything else, just give me the number. Thanks. |

Just one but some people are desperate to live in denial about their racist, homophobic tendencies.

It really is such a difficult thing to judge, especially when it seemed (to me anyway) that Perez was purposely taunting Alex over the last few hours leading up to it.
But Perez's biggest problem is that he uses the word fagot, doesn't find it offensive and has openly called celebrities it on video. If Alexander (and I do mean if) he was aware of Perez's love for the word then throwing it back at him makes perfect sense. But I do not, for a second, believe Alexander is a homophobic man and he's friendship with Kav and Michelle would certainly back that up. ![]() Your point BIB is a valid one on some level. |

So what would call a gay man that makes a homophobic comment, or a black or Asian than makes a racist one against their own race?

Yes a few people are now mentioning he seemed to be picking particularly on Alexander - I cannot remember now was this F word before Perez knew Alex had been saved or after. Maybe he thought he was a threat to his crown as if

"offensive" =/= words
"offensive" = context ...that's if "offensive" is even a useful concept, or whether it is in fact counter-productive. IMO if someone behaves unpleasantly, they should face social consequences (eg if it's particularly bad, everyone else telling them they're an unpleasant piece of faecal matter and refusing to speak to them until they've showed some contrition) but the whole issue is way too fraught with subjectivity for the application of written rules to do anything other than perpetuate ignorance - because it discourages people from *thinking* and lets them just reflexively react *without thinking*. And stuff. |

Self hating. If they're a self hating black person, we usually call them Toms.
In the 80's calling someone black was an offense, nowadays it's the norm. Calling a man gay was once a terrible thing, then accepted. Queer is another one, which is probably my favourite for people calling me...so different words, different rules. |

Why not? I can do loads of different things at once. Earlier I was cooking my dinner, whilst watching QI on my ipad AND smoking a cigarette.

Who decides if someone is self hating? What exactly defines self hating? I've heard President Obama referred to that. I find that term as offensive as some of the others brought up. I fail to see how it contributes in a positive way.
Please enlighten me as to why you feel sooo offended by that term and you feel that it is on the same level as the N word or the F word? No offense but a lot of people who benefit from societal privilege tend to have faux outrage over issues that they don't really understand or have a valid experience of. |

He could have called Perez out as a nasty, vindictive, gobshite. Absolutely no reason to choose a homophobic slur. He seemed a pleasant enough fellow but it isn't ok to throw the f word at people. And no Perez shouldn't have called anyone else it but it still doesn't make it ok for Alexander to use it. We shouldn't be trying to justify the use of homophobic and racist terms for any reason. Plenty of other insults to choose from if you are annoyed at someone.

She may not have meant it that way, and had to go back and expound on what she meant ... but she did say (essentially) she was going to hit him over the head with a pan. And knocking the head off the rabbit (however she did it) has pretty violent overtones. |

Well I don't know what show you're watching, but the one I'm watching had much more of Katie Hopkins goading Perez than of Perez goading anyone, including Alexander. You guys seem to be filling in "hours and hours" of something you're not seeing.
