I think Alex has cleared some things up before his departure. He apologises for his actions and says he has gay cousins who he loves. I am becoming more and more convinced now that Perez game strategy is to eliminate as many people as possible from the house. Even Kav is outraged as it seems Alex was a popular housemate in there. Production ought to get their act together. Perez saying repeatedly that he is unsafe? What about the emotional safety of the housemates? Someone is going to really blow in there if they aren't careful. Why on earth have they let Alex leave as quick???

I think Alex truly felt really sorry and embarrased for what slipped out of his mouth.

It's telling that every single housemate (except Nadia) hates Perez, there's probably more we're not seeing.

They are loving the controversy he is causing as it equals ratings. Sadly other housemates are getting gunned down in the process, it is indeed becoming the Perez show.

I don't think he is homophobic at all. It slipped out when he was very heated.

It's easy to say things you don't mean when you're so riled up after being taunted for no reason.

Edit:
"the gays" reads so badly btw.

What I'm sick of is being told that as I gay man, I'm obliged to be horrified by Alex's words. If I'd been there, I'd have called him far worse. Alex is clearly not a homophobe and it sickens me that so many people, most of them heterosexual blow up in outrage when it's not necessary.

isn't Kav Gay? and Alex is fine with him.
I posted an article earlier from a Gay Magazine on why Perez Hilton actually hurts the cause and it explains the comments from Michelle.

If Hilton is making people mute the TV when he is on limited highlights god help what its like living with him.

A lot of people on facebook who said they were gay, were not offended by what Alex said and thought that Perez does their cause no good at all. Thought that was very interesting.

It reminds me of the whole Jonah Hill thing. He was being hounded by a paparazzi who was saying things about him and his family until he snapped and said, "suck my d**k you f****t."

It blew up and Jonah went on live TV (might've been Conan?) to publicly apologise for it, and he was on the verge of breaking down into tears because he's an LGBT ally, but he said that in the moment he was so angry and riled up that he thought of the worst possible thing he could say to that person to hurt them, and out it came.

Well said. Alexander should not have said what he said but context is everything.

It was on Howard Stern's show, the initial apology anyway

I used to feel that way about Alex but after tonight, I found myself thinking ' how well do ypwe know this guy at all?'. We don't know him at all, we just think we do.

One of the uncomfortable things was Alex talking about Petez prancing around in a dress. I don't know why a man wearing a dress upset him so much, out if all the things Petez has done.

Same thing happened to Alec Baldwin when the paps hounded him. It's disheartening that a lift time of being on the right side of history and supporting good causes is flushed away by a single word uttered in heated moment.

I wont lie when I was in school I got called every Gay slur you can think of
for 4 years I was called gay C*** on a daily basis. Main problem I have with perez he is abusing the rules set out from the complete mess then created in the mid series farces.

He runs into the Diary room screaming "personal safety" at stake. he knows there are red lines and BB would act owing to possible legal action. The rumours about him walking tonight I wouldn't be a bit surprised are true. The guy doesn't need money he wants Attention and airtime leave the house and say how unsafe he felt etc etc.

Joan rivers was a very clever lady I don't understand why she befriended him, Joan could verbally tear someone apart with 3 jokes, Perez's idea of tearing someone apart is drawing a penis on a picture of them. His early blogs were just so full of venom it was nothing even constructive always OTT attention seeking

I thought it annoyed him because it was yet another attention seeking action by Perez. The fact it was a dress was irrelevant.

His speech that "god doesn't make mistakes" was a pretty clear expression of views I thought.

I think he meant it. You don't just come out with words like that, surely. If someone got annoyed and called Alexander the N word would be people be saying it just slipped out because they were mad?

I'm also surprised at how quickly Michelle excused his language. And all the other housemates for that matter, considering the utter out rage when Ken said he looked at their bums. Seems it's only offensive if they don't like the person saying the words....

If he wasn't homophobic that word wouldn't have been what came to mind. It doesn't matter how much of a **** Perez was being or has been. You can call him a **** without making it about his sexuality. There's definitely a subtle undercurrent of homophobia fuelling the behaviour towards Perez from certain housemates. Alexander most obviously, with his 'don't breathe on my food' schtick which rather uncomfortably recalls 80s attitudes to gays because everyone seemed to think they were walking AIDS carriers, to his macho bullshit rant of 'if you did that in America you know what you'd get' etc. to Katie's proclamations of 'despicable, disgusting' etc.

But hey, homophobia's ok because some of his best friends are gay. Apparently.

I'd say more that he was suddenly conveniently popular in there when some of them realised that they could use him as a tool for their own ends.

Before the latest developments he only appeared to be close to Calum and maybe Kavana. The others in my opinion couldn't care less about him, and if it wasn't for the latest developments could well have picked up many nominations to be evicted.
