What is? i didn't say i believe the rumours but they were certainly widespread among people in the industry, so that's a statement that's neither 'true' or 'false', it just reflects what was going on at that time.
Perez built his website partly upon 'outing' gay celebs. He got a lot of criticism for it and from 2010 said he wouldn't do it anymore. Again, fact.
If I were a straight man who had been made uncomfortable in the past by rumours about my sexuality I would be wary of a rumour-monger like Perez who didn't alawys substantiate his claims.
If I were a gay man who hadn't felt able to come out, perhaps due to overwhelming pressure in my community to be a 'macho' man, then I would also feel very uncomfortable around Perez.
Finally, if I knew that Perez had access to very damaging information (which he has about a lot of celebs) then I would also feel very uncomfortable.
Either way, the discomfort was based on two very different ideas of masculinity and very different ideas of how you behave as a 'man'.
