Why even watch the show when you get the whole thing condensed into two minutes...

at the start of each programme.

Seriously, this is getting like TV in america.

I re-watched the boobgate ep at the weekend and the actual show didn't start until 2.25 mins in. Before that we got the whole thing in a spoiler clad preview package.

WHY????

I don't watch the 'coming up' bits purely cos it spoils the entire show. I mute the TV and look away. I recommend everyone does the same cos it makes the show so much more entertaining.

I would imagine its to draw in the casual viewers rather than fans..casual viewers may not have seen the episodes so far and they keep them interested by showing the best bits coming up..kind of works like a movie trailer.

Personally I am ok with showing whats happened previously but not a fan of showing whats to come.
To be fair though I think we are getting more minuites per show than we did on ch4..if you go right back to BB1 we sometimes got 2 days condensed into a 20/25 min slot.

This very nearly justify's the previously trailers. but not the "Coming up" bollocks.
It leaves no surprises in the show whatsoever. So now you know A is going to tell B about C, you are essentially tuning in for a longer version of it, or a bit of further context. It gets worse when they do it in the ad breaks. I think I watched Alexander leave 3 times last night.

Plus we are loosing 2 minutes of extra footage with this recycled garbage.

I don't watch and keep the sound off until the "previously" and "coming up" pieces have been shown. Complete waste of time and spoils the rest of the show.
Where do they get these ideas from, yes, I know, America, where we get most of these lousy housemates too.

It's a complete spoiler. I like to find things out as I go along not have it all chucked at me so watching the rest of the show is flat.

They do it with more and more shows these days, it's as if they are saying 'hey public, we know you're thick, here's what's coming up so that your minute level of concentration doesn't wander'. Truly annoys me.

If you think this is bad, this past season of BBAU was horrendous.
You have the KFC moments, the HM special moments, the 'up next', and the spoilers. On the days of the live show, all the audience crap, the silly jokes, the multiple chats with the house, it goes on.

And then there's the scheduling... at the start of the series, it was 5-6 days a week. Then without notice, it dropped to 4 days a week - Mon - Thursday with eviction on Thursday and nominations on Monday. Monday's show were rushed because you had to fit in 3 days drama, post-eviction, any ensuing drama... it was a mess.

As much as we complain about BBUK, it beats BBAU's format.

Most days, I just watch BBAU on Youtube and could run through a 45minute episode in 15 minutes.

I don't watch a lot of TV other than what I watch on box sets. Is it all as bad as this?

Whoever writes Emma's puns needs shooting.
