Why was the diary room and his departure not filmed?

Obviously because BB struck a deal with him to leave and keep his money so Perez can happily stay in (feeling SAFE) and win because the fickle british public will vote him to win after they see his turnaround in character and his "journey".

Reice I think you may be onto something here.

was a bit odd .

even if they struck a deal they could easily cut that bit , there must've been more said than that , but they showed nothing ...

It almost certainly was but wouldn't necessarily make for gripping viewing.

If all that happened was he asked to leave, BB checked he was sure and then he left its not the most interesting bit of footage to tell the story that he has gone. Not if you have a bunch of housemates who you can film reacting to an announcement and making mileage of it for their existing agendas.
