IMO this series has been more about people verbally abusing each other rather than bullying. Ken for example spent his last four days just verbally abusing and being generally offensive to the majority of the house. What is interesting is how he specifically victimised woman which says more about his character. Yes he over stepped the mark with his racial slur but Alex quickly reprimanded him and Ken then tried to make light of the situation I found it interesting how he then had the conversation with Keith re telephone call to justify himself, he chose the older white showbuiss man again says a fair bit about his character.
Cami is another person who uses abuse and aggressive behaviours to try and influence others and intimidate who she perceives as weak. She again is very selective in who and how she reacts to certain people. I do feel that Cami and Katie could and are close to what could be seen as bullying however Michelle is quite savvy and at the moment pulls the reigns in on them.
Katie H is a bully although I think we haven't seen her succeed yet. If Michelle wasn't there I think we would have seen a far nastier side. There are too many big female characters at the moment who could challenge and trample over her and she knows it. She totally knew Cami is easily influenced and a hot head so made her alignment early on.bthe two of them together are and given the opportunity will bully. Katie has a completely passive aggressive personality. She reminds me of someone that has been bullied at some point in her life and she has then become a bully in later life. Nothing she says or does is not done but to create attention around her. She also is unable to challenge or discuss anything positively as she immediatly stands up and or has to point. I do think there treatment of Alicia and the pack way the three of them challenge her is bordering on what could be perceived as bullying. Nadia is Katie's biggest threat and Katie is well aware as Nadia although at times can be irritating conducts herself I a very positive way. She is strong enough to challenge and discuss without having to be abusive. Yes she might bitch behind someone's back but every single person is guilty of that.
Perez given an opportunity would bully but will never get the opportunity because his neediness far out weighs his personality. You can instantly see why he has no real meaningful friends in life. His only way of interacting is extreme attention seeking. He is like a 5 year old child with no concept of others around. If he is happy everyone around should be happy and join in, when he is having a tantrum everybody should pay attention. Whatever happens in the house it's all about him. The Chloe situation was a prime example it was Perez who felt unsafe and something needed to happen for his protection?? He goes around goading others, winding up Alexander following him about staring ect when he got a reaction suddenly runs off to the diary room crying demanding something has to be done because he's a victim. He is unable to take any responsibility fir his behaviour and will always be a victim in life although he creates a lot of it by his own actions. I would agree if Katie had succeeded in getting no body to speak to him, I would have considered that bullying as she would have used her influence and went round with the intention of isolating him deliberately to cause him distress. What's interesting is because she failed she struggles to accept that others specifically Nadia , Alicia and Keith (at one point) still speak to him so sees that as a weakness in them. Whereas really it shows their strength as a people to be able to see Perez's weaknesses and not get involved or allow him to influence your own behaviour to the same level.
I do think this series has bern more damaging to BB than good, yes they have managed to get the publicity and viewing figures as an immediate reaction however I think post BB I think it has highlighted how the format and what the overall integrity of the show has now been lost.
