I think you may be right !

A look back at my posting history will show my antagonism to Nadia ( and 'Loose Women' in general )

It's a 'gulp' moment for me, therefore, to acknowledge that yes Nadia probably is the most decent, rational person amongst the rabble

Mmmmm.........I agree and it smacked more than a little of snobbery too!

Xrist ... Hopkins boasts of 'doing Sandhurst'

How, exactly, do you define 'snobbery' ?

It's not quite as brilliant as "genital wart on the face of the house" or telling someone they lack brain cells but that's difficult to live up to for anyone.

There you go....................

snob (snŏb)
n.
1. One who despises, ignores, or is patronizing to those he or she considers inferior.
2. One who is convinced of his or her superiority in matters of taste or intellect.

This post is full of assumptions, and it seems you are a mind reader; or did she tell you herself? .

Precisely. Typifies Nadia completely. Protencious pig.

The Sun has always been about Mutdoch fooling idiots, while the Guardian (online especially) seems to be more and more about women fooling themselves, but it's still vastly superior.

Nadia is a panellist on Loose Women, TV's equivalent of The Sun, for heavens sake. She has absolutely no right to feel superior to anybody.

I thought Katie did well to hold her tongue, Nadia had to get a little barb in at the end which rather negated her earlier apology.

I have to laugh at people saying the two papers are as bad as each other. Let's weigh up the evidence: Pulitzer-prize winning newspaper exposes international state-sponsored spy intrusion on mass scale, faces prosecution in pursuing the story versus rag that puts tits on page 3. Newspaper breaks the hacking story, is ridiculed publicly and accused of lying but was proved right and continued to take Murdoch head on exposing one unethical/illegal story after another, versus dodgy newspaper connected to the accused rag, which broke into a murdered girl's phone among 100s of others and bribed police.

Yeah, they're exactly the same.

Criticise its liberal bias by all means. But insults about The Guardian such as pretentious or snobby sound like guttersniping. The TV coverage, for example, is great and often hilarious (eg The X Factor and Apprentice blogs). They give a voice to all sides of a debate, and have a stable of funny writers like David Mitchell, Charlie Brooker, Stewart Lee, Stuart Heritage, and Marina Hyde. I could go on and on providing evidence but what this seems to come down to is ideology and not actual range of content or the quality of it.

As a Katie Hopkins supporter I thought it was great - Katie had already mentioned that Nadia's liberal left opinions were everything she despised, Nadia has pretty much confirmed her position.
But the best bit is that by directly using "keep reading The Sun" as an insult, she has potentially alienated between 5-7m (depends who you believe) potential voters!

Keep up the good work Nads!

My son is going for a week's work experience at the Guardian next week, we're hoping he'll get a career out of it. LOL

Nadia's little dig at the end there did rather negate the peace offering, but you could hardly blame her for it after all the name calling from the other camp. She'd have to be a saint to resist the temptation.

Anyway, KH would appreciate the snobbery given that she thinks snobbery is not only acceptable but should be encouraged.

Well indeed.

It was a good put down. I felt the 'ouch' factor but it was based on snobbery. I doubt Katie is a Sun reader, it just happens to be the only paper who offered her a column. She'd probably feel more at home on the Daily Mail staff.

To be fair, Nadia came across much better last night.

I wonder if there are more Guardian readers watching CBB than The Sun readers? Maybe Nadia just alienated a shit load of voters? You decide...

Oh dear. If you believe the Sun is just as bad as the Guardian, there really isn't hope for society.

Unfortunately judging on the comments in posts on this thread it seems she won't have alienated anyone..

Isn't that akin to saying someone has toothache .... In their toe ?

Probably yes. But not quite the same impact

It was patronising & missed the mark for me. Katie writes for the Sun but is hardly likely to have been a reader beforehand. She more likely reads the Telegraph - like Nadia works for Loose Women but probably wouldn't watch it for her own entertainment.

Jules I'm in total agreement with you.
To compare one to the other is ridiculous and really quite funny

Yes. Patronising. Slightly funny. But patronising. If she is liberal. Then she should know better than to stereotype. So she kind of shoot herself in the foot.
