Was laying in bed last night listening to the album thinking about what was going on in my life when it was released and it dawned on me, it is 20 years this year since it was released.

20 years ago I was in first year at grammar school

20 years ago I wasn't even a teenager

Let's celebrate a great album

This album helped get me through my first heartbreak. Never mind all that I Will Survive nonsense - if you've just been dumped, you need this album on LOUD. Turn that sadness into anger...YEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

This album was such an influence on my life. I have some of her subsequent albums but they never had the same effect on me.

I only bought a copy of "Jagged Little Pill" last year but it's a great album. It's been in my car a lot.

Oh wow thanks for that. Big fan of Anneke ever since The Gathering. I'm going to post another cover of Ironic which is really nice by Mis-Teeq....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vU3YwuaKD0Q

Magic album, Still one of my top 10 all time favourites. I went to private school and had this lp confiscated numerous times, I always managed to sneak in a new copy though haha! I don't think there has been another album quite like it since. Aside from a handful of singles since, ive never enjoyed anything else she has released.

I played Jagged Little Pill (and Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie) to death back in the 90s. I don't listen to it very often nowadays, but I do stick it on every now and then. And then I'm reminded what a damn good album it is. Timeless.

I wouldn't call it a guilty pleasure, just an excellent album.

I remember well watching Ireland's top 30 songs on RTE 2 at this time and it is songs like Alanis Morissette's Ironic, as well as Fast Car by Tracy Chapman that are my lasting memories of that show.

Ah top 30 hits!! Many a boring Tuesday evening spent watching that. And grr they'd only play a few seconds of some videos and nearly all of another.

I had Jagged Little Pill and I thought I was so cool. I wasn't

An okay album that became far too big, especially for Alanis herself.

There are a few mediocre tracks but the good ones are really good. It's very of its time, but that's ok.

I absolutely agree with this. It is unmistakably a 90s album.

Without it Natalie Imbruglia wouldn't have had a career in music

Guilty pleasures usually don't win 5 Grammys and sell 30 million + albums.

This was the soundtrack to my life when it first came out, I will have to apologize again to my mum and dad for putting them through constant loops of jagged little pill.

Her follow up album was pretty darn good too, if a little long winded.

Oooh, and the jagged little pill unplugged version is to die for.

I absolutely agree with this. It is unmistakably a 90s album.
I would be more specific and say the mid 90s - after the alt rock breakthrough and the success of the likes of Tori Amos. Even down to the mid 90s typewriter font.

I dont think it would have been as gritty, relatively speaking, had it been released at the beginning of the decade.
